US Air Force has a ground-based laser system that destroys drones. It can be plugged into a household power outlet

On October 23, 2019 Raytheon announced delivery as the company claims, the first-ever laser weapon for destruction of drones. The High-Energy Laser Weapon System (HELWS) system was adopted by the U.S. Air Force.

This weapon  of the directed transmission of energy  uses the electrooptical or infrared pickup for detection and tracking of UAVs in a radius of the action. After identification of the purpose goes the laser for knocking down of dangerous drones in the sky into action.

The U.S. Air Force had a land laser machine destroying drones

Affirms that the laser source can eat from the standard 220-volt socket and when it is connected to the generator, it is possible to achieve "almost infinite number of shots", declared in Raytheon. Power of the laser machine is not specified.

Our clients see it and asked us to develop completely ready system for counteraction to UAVs. We made it, having passed from sketches to deliveries less than in 24 months.

The laser machine for knocking down of drones was placed on the four-seater MRZR Polaris SUV equipped with the 88-strong petrol engine of 875 cubic centimeters. The buggy is completed with the rechargeable battery which total charge will be enough for  "several tens of shots the laser".

Purchase of HELWS is conducted within the Maneuver Fires Integrated Experiment (MFIX) program based on which the Ministry of Defence of the USA is going to provide troops with effective and inexpensive remedies for fight against small aircraft. In 2019 Raytheon already received the contract in $23.8 million for construction of two HELWS and also the order for $16 million for the microwave Phaser system.[1]
