RVi Group implemented the solutions TopLog WMS in a warehouse of electronics and video equipment

2019: Implementing solution TopLog WMS

On October 25, 2019 the TopLog company announced the implementing solution TopLog WMS in a warehouse of electronics and video equipment of RVi Group company (Erviaygroup). Integration of a warehouse management system is performed by specialists TopLog. The project is complete in May, 2019.

As of October, 2019 the warehouse of Erviaygroup company located in Moscow occupies the space of 1,100 sq.m on which it is placed on storage of 2,200 nomenclature names of electronics and video equipment, from component parts to finished products. Products are distributed on two storage areas: the main and small-pieces (mezzanines). Also there are certain sectors for storage and processing of special trade inventories: zone of demonstration copies and zone of the range of service maintenance. In a warehouse the systems of floor storage, frontal shirokoprokhodny racks of frame type, shelf racks of piece storage, manual hydraulic carts, the piler, richtrak, the loader are used.

Before business process automation using TopLog WMS the warehouse of the customer worked on paper technology. As a warehouse system opportunities "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" which could not provide necessary quality and speed of work of division of the company were used. In particular, in a warehouse there was no address storage (CIS did not consider exact storage locations of products), serious difficulties arose in the period of peak loads. Data collection terminals were used only at a stage of control of a complete set of the orders collected for sending.

In addition to liquidation of the above-stated problems, the implemented WMS system had to solve and a number of the following:

• increase capacity of a warehouse;
• optimize merchandising on warehouse zones;
• provide lot-based accounting of goods by numbers of the cargo customs declarations (CCD) without additional marking;
• consider numbers SCD when forming orders for shipment;
• increase personnel performance;
• exclude errors because of a human factor;
• automate process of issue of tasks to employees;
• provide always up-to-date information on products remaining balance;
• function in the remote mode, without local warehouse server.

In the project progress on integration of TopLog WMS at a warehouse of RVi Group company all tasks set for specialists TopLog were solved.

Business process automation of a warehouse of the customer allowed to implement lot-based accounting by numbers of cargo customs declarations, it is essential to lower problems of peak loads. Automatic planning and issue of requests in work allowed to liquidate idle times of personnel. Many times the speed of carrying out inventory increased. After TopLog WMS implementation acceptance of deliveries began to be executed by quantity and quality using the shipping documentation that considerably accelerated process.

Owing to standardization of working business processes the warehouse was rebuilt on the "pipeline" principle of service of orders that allowed to accelerate processing of a trade flow. Client requests in the automatic mode are grouped in selection waves on the basis of data on the planned shipment time, a delivery mode, and the corresponding tasks for selection of required products are issued to employees.

Thanks to TopLog WMS opportunities, the guide of the customer had a complete understanding about the course of implementation of workflows in a warehouse. The implemented WMS system allows to obtain all up-to-date information using a packet of the standard configured reports: on goods, categories of products, turnover, warehouse capacity, development of employees, a status of orders for acceptance and shipment, and on some other characteristics.

Due to harmonious work of specialists of TopLog and Erviaygroup companies the TopLog WMS system was integrated with the minimum changes in business processes and the principles of work of a corporate information system.

Object parameters as of October, 2019:

• the area of a warehouse – 1,100 sq.m;
• 2,200 names of the nomenclature;
• 10 users of a system;
• 5 data collection terminals;
• 2,000 warehouse transactions a day;
• 35 orders a day.
