Rostec and the Astrakhan region implement joint projects in the field of "The smart city"

2019: Agreement on project implementation "Smart city" and "Safe city"

On November 19, 2019 Rostec reported that together with the Astrakhan region agreed about implementation of complex technology projects in the territory of the region. Cooperation is aimed at the development of technologies of "The smart city" and "The safe city" for the benefit of the region.

Signatures under the document were appended by the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin and the deputy CEO of State Corporation Rostec Alexander Nazarov.

According to the agreement, Rostec will assist the region in project implementation, directed to creation of the comfortable and safe urban environment, digitalization of different spheres of life of the region, increase in energy efficiency of municipal economy.

Creation of the intelligent transport system (ITS) will become one of the key directions of cooperation. Implementation of such developments allows to improve security on roads, to considerably reduce road accident number, to increase capacity of roads.

Transport infrastructure – one of the major questions for the Astrakhan region. Only 36 percent of roads meet standard. An overhaul wait for 19 abnormal bridges. And it is necessary to approach implementation of the national project "Safe and Qualitative Highways" not only repairing a paving, and in a complex, in the shortest possible time and using advanced technologies. Interaction will allow to work with State corporation quickly and effectively, and, above all, for people to solve assigned tasks with advantage, emphasized the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin

According to the reached agreements Rostec will create in the region pilot zones for testing of digital solutions and to implement domestic information and communication technologies.

Also the State corporation will render assistance to the region in carrying out scientific research, creation and upgrade of research centers, production of hi-tech products in the territory of the area.

At Rostec wide practical experience of integration of digital technologies into the urban environment within the Digital Economy national project is accumulated. For example, we implement projects in the field of "The smart city" in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Sverdlovsk, Irkutsk regions, some other regions of the country. This work allows to increase comfort and security for citizens, to improve quality of management of urban areas, to considerably save energy resources, to improve a road and ecological situation.
