Prior to this appointment, Omelai served as Director of the Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia, which includes the following issues:

  • functioning of information systems and information and telecommunication infrastructure of the ministry;
  • organization of interaction of state information systems, the operators of which are the ministry, the federal service, subordinate organizations, state extra-budgetary funds, with other information systems;
  • introduction and application of information technologies in the social sphere.
