On March 4, 2020 the Softline company announced that thanks to Dedicated cloud-service the federal retail network of the 220 Volts electric tool managed in the shortest possible time and on profitable terms to update the park of the equipment which consisted of several tens servers of Dell.
Company "220 Volts" began the activity with sale of abrasive materials more than 20 years ago. Aimed at development, it managed to become for these years one of the DIY networks, largest in Russia. The company contains about 240 shops of the electric tool, points of issue and corporate service centers, located in all regions of the country. Due to the annual growth of business of network it was necessary to update own park of the equipment. The possibility of one-time equipment procurement was initially considered. But this option required considerable capital costs, and one-time therefore it appeared in a smaller priority. After studying of advantages and shortcomings of different financial models the decision to receive the necessary volume of resources under lease was made.
To the management of retail network "220 Volts" a large number of offers from participants of the Russian market of high technologies began to arrive. Some time ago, having estimated the proposal of one of providers, the company began to rent about 10 servers located in his data center. But experts of Softline, global provider of IT solutions and services, having revealed requirements of the company, finally offered the most optimal variant of accumulation of hardware capacities — Dedicated service with placement of the equipment in DPC of the client.
Within service of Dedicated from Softline rack servers Dell EMC PowerEdge of the 14th generation are used. They are an optimal combination of computing resources and memory to high-scalable architecture and provide the maximum capacity of a broad spectrum applications. All equipment is concentrated in the data center Tier of level III located century To Moscow. For convenience of the customer the service of Dedicated is provided in mode 24*7*365. A downtime of the service confirmed transparent SLA 99.9% with financial guarantees does not exceed 44 minutes a month. Technical parameters of dedicated servers allow connection of a large number of cloud-services, such as IaaS VMware, STaaS Colocation. As a result the customer receives the universal service allowing to solve most optimum arising business challenges. At the same time, if the client prefers to place this equipment on own platform, service provider gives also such opportunity.
Plus of Dedicated is an opportunity to scale IT infrastructure as in big, and downwards: the minimum lease term of a dedicated server makes one month. In three years of continuous use of service the client acquires the right to redeem computing powers.
The Dedicated service from Softline enjoys popularity at business community. The reason of demand is in cost-efficient model of lease and ample technical capabilities. For example, Softline successfully completed the cloud project thanks to which the PHILIN company increased efficiency of interaction with the Russian non-profit organizations. Use of resources of the Dell EMC PowerEdge dedicated server provided to Softline helped the customer to provide stable functioning and high performance of solutions 1C in a uniform circuit of corporate automation. One more client of Softline - Korteos LLC consumes Dedicated service. The company is software developer of Corteos using whom business trips are planned. Thanks to Dedicated, Korteos LLC had an opportunity to flexibly scale resources, leveled the risks connected with failure and equipment downtime, transferred capital costs to operating rooms, having released additional resources for development.
The Dedicated service which is actively advanced, by the way, by very many players of the market of cloud services was provided to us. But conditions of cooperation with Softline profitable differed from all proposals of competitors. For example, within service we can use the servers of Dell of the last generation placed by provider on our platform. The amount of the rent varies depending on quantity and structure of the rented servers, it is the option which is most acceptable for us. Moreover, after continuous use of service for three years we will be able to redeem the rented equipment at symbolical cost. Delivery of this equipment took place in three stages, and in most short time. Specialists of Softline brought the first two servers to us within 9 working days. We received the second batch consisting of 11 items of equipment in 18 days. At last, delivery of the last ten servers took no more than four weeks. Our first meeting with customer representatives took place on July 2, 2019. Presenting Dedicated service, we guaranteed supplies of equipment in most short time. The size of lease payments for use of the Dell EMC servers which was set by Softline company profitable differed from conditions of other participants of the Russian IT market. Service life of the equipment installed within the client's perimeter made five years therefore the management of network "220 Volts" highly appreciated a possibility of the redemption of hardware capacities in three years.
