Socar started the project of "The digital field" on the SAP UFAM platform

2020: UFAM SAP implementation

On April 23, 2020 the SOCAR company told about digital transformation of oil and gas extraction transactions. The SAP solution UFAM will integrate production processes in one system and will be integrated into a digital core of the enterprise – SAP ERP. The start of commercial operation of UFAM is planned for June, 2020.

SOCAR aims to use advanced technologies in business processes and on production, sets industry standards of oil production and supports the state course towards digitalization of economy. Implementation of the UFAM platform will allow to consolidate separate data from different production systems, to perform the integrated analysis for ensuring work of wells according to the approved potential and also to optimize geological and technical actions. According to the company, the project on creation of uniform data source which will allow to perform the integrated planning, modeling, the analysis and monitoring of all processes of oil production is implemented by a team of staff of SOCAR, Caspian Innovation Center, SAP Digital Business Services and OIS.

At the first stage solutions on the main business processes, data and their integration with the systems sources of measurements of SOCAR, a corporate data warehouse and digital core were developed SAP ERP. Implementation in a system approved algorithms and testing of the solution on two oil and gas production departments is carried out. The functionality of the platform on selection of geological and technology actions, job analysis of wells, the integrated modeling and planning of production process is shown. For April, 2020 key user training is complete. Responsible specialists of SOCAR in different groups of data for their check and loading in a system are appointed.

Start of the platform in commercial operation will allow SOCAR to achieve the following objectives:

• the standardized approach to planning will provide accounting of works of all production services influencing production that considerably will lower intra daily shortages;
• in a subsystem of the integrated modeling the permanent model of an asset for decision support and calculation of a static and dynamic model of restrictions will be implemented;
• in a monitoring panel on the card all business objects (the well, the pipeline, a ground equipment, power objects, etc.) with representation of their passport, target and current operation parameters will be in real time displayed.

A system considers in the work a set of indicators, from layer to an oil delivery node that allows to transform production processes. Dmitry Pilipenko, the deputy CEO of SAP CIS emphasized
