2020: Release of Primeflex for VMware Virtual SAN

Fujitsu announced release of previously configured system for DPC designed to simplify management of all lifecycle of hyper convergent IT of infrastructures (Hyper-Converged Infrastructures, HCI) based on VMware. Fujitsu PRIMEFLEX for VMware of vSAN maintains expanded functionality for seamless deployment, work, scaling and maintenance of HCI based on VMware. A system optimizes joint work of software of VMware and hardware components of Fujitsu for DPC. It became known on June 8, 2020.

Being a crucial element of digital transformation, hyper convergent infrastructures are switching structures of DPC of the next generation which are the cornerstone of dynamic modern digital services. The recent research confirmed that 83% of IT departments in the next 2 years are going to increase investments into HCI. But as the companies upgrade and transform the data processing centers, they face the problems connected with design, acquisition, integration, testing and maintenance of HCI environments. The integrated Fujitsu Primeflex systems are specially developed to accelerate implementation of HCI and hybrid IT environments, eliminating possible risks and controlling expenses.

The Fujitsu PRIMEFLEX system for VMware of vSAN is addition in a line of the HCI systems of Fujitsu company. It is delivered according to individual requirements of customers and provides the low level of risk of the wrong deployment and also fast installation and setup. A system is completely optimized, previously tested and is delivered with the preset software. Computing resources and resources of DWH can be increased according to the increasing requirements of the companies, up to 64 server nodes. Therefore this solution is an optimal basis for creation of virtual infrastructures which will not become outdated over time.

Created based on the Fujitsu PRIMERGY x86 servers showing high rates of work on results of tests of VMware, the solution provides the high performance and availability to workloads of HCI. Such as general virtualization, infrastructure of virtual desktops, Big Data and analytics, work of remote offices and branches, boundary calculations and even crucial loadings, including SAP HANA. Offering a single platform for local and remote deployments, PRIMEFLEX for VMware of vSAN simplifies hybrid IT, ensuring the coordinated work and a possibility of fast and simple transfer of workloads between cloud environments without the need for change of architecture of applications. PRIMEFLEX for VMware of vSAN represents the convenient solution for transition to local infrastructures with support of functionality of cloud environments using VMware Cloud Foundation and in cloud environments.

For minimization of administration and increase in efficiency the PRIMEFLEX system for VMware of vSAN is delivered with Fujitsu Software Infrastructure Manager (ISM) which is closely integrated with software for management of vCenter of VMware company. Functions of automatic control allow to control all nesting and program storages using the single user interface. It gives the chance to save fault tolerance, coordination and compatibility of system configurations and to cut down expenses on administration. In addition Fujitsu can provide 24/7 universal support for all program and hardware components through network of the centers of provision of services Global Delivery Center.

VMware and Fujitsu closely cooperate to accelerate implementation of hyper convergent infrastructure in crucial environments in big scales. This solution can accelerate initial deployment and over time simplify management and support of lifecycle.
