Primeflex for SAP HANA and SAP applications

The company Fujitsu announced in January, 2018 release of two solutions of Primeflex intended for fast deployment of the applications SAP processing large volumes of data. The provided developments will be useful to the enterprises in the conditions of digital transformation of business and considerably will simplify management process databases SAP HANA, performed in RAM, claim in the company.

The integrated Primeflex systems certified by SAP company for SAP HANA and Primeflex for SAP applications function based on software of FlexFrame Orchestrator Management Software. The Primeflex complexes solve a problem of management of SAP infrastructure. Their use is intended to reduce the cost of ownership of the systems supporting work of the SAP environment, told in Fujitsu.

The Primeflex systems are optimized for the systems of horizontal scaling of the SAP HANA platform. Fujitsu proposed the solution in which one 100-gigabit Ethernet-channel instead of several physical data transmission lines is used. By estimates of the company, such approach reduces the number of necessary switching ports at least by 3 times that simplifies installation and operation of the equipment. The complex meets requirements of the applications of the next generation working with Big Data, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and the S/4 HANA platform.

The integrated Primeflex systems for SAP HANA and Primeflex for SAP applications are created based on the Intel Xeon processor Skylake. Previously tested solutions include the Primergy servers, a storage system and network and program components that allows customers to unroll quickly the infrastructures and to simplify management of environments of SAP.

Reference model of Fujitsu Primeflex for HPC

The Fujitsu company produced on November 3, 2017 a reference model of the integrated Fujitsu Primeflex systems for HPC which will allow customers to process quicker constantly growing volumes of unstructured data, using possibilities of HPC-infrastructures for high-performance analytics of data (High Performance Data Analytics, HPDA).

The high-performance analytics of data (HPDA) integrates Big Data and high-performance computing (HPC) for faster processing of the workloads connected with large volumes of information. Acceleration of computer calculations is available now not only for HPC-modeling, but also for electronic trading, financial and economic segments of economy in which volumes of unstructured data and for which timely detection of cases of fraud and extraction of practical information has crucial value constantly increase, emphasized in the company.

The Primeflex model which is offered by Fujitsu will allow customers to take advantage of available cost and high speed of work of HPDA and it is productive to use the existing physical or virtual HPC-infrastructure for the certain tasks connected with HPDA. Besides, the model supports vertical scaling in process of growth of requirements of the companies.

Use of opportunities of HPDA technologies became possible thanks to consolidation of two technologies: data analysis which allows to take useful information from large volumes of the data available in all segments of business, and HPC-infrastructure. Thus, Fujitsu laid the foundation for creation of reference models of HPDA which integrate in themselves these technologies as one integrated solution.

The integrated Fujitsu Primeflex systems for HPC propose a scalable solution which HPC-loadings and the analysis of Big Data in one HPC-infrastructure will allow to integrate. The reference model offered by the company provides previously tested and integrated solution with the management for customers which will allow them to select an optimal configuration, proceeding from the database sizes.

The model which underwent preset tuning in general represents completely integrated solution which includes computing resources, network components, a storage system with direct connection and a storage system for disaster recovery, software of management of a cluster, the application for Big Data, the parallel file system and Fujitsu Gateway.

According to Fujitsu, the reference model for HPC is already available to the integrated Fujitsu Primeflex systems in EMEIA region. Cost depends on a configuration and the level of scaling of workloads.

Primeflex for Storage Spaces Direct

On April 27, 2017 Fujitsu announced expansion of a portfolio Primeflex and creation of model with support of Storage Spaces Direct technology.

A system is created for decrease in excess complexity and minimization of possible risks of deployment in data processing centers of high-performance hyper convergent infrastructures on the Microsoft OS platform.

As a part of this model the Storage Spaces Direct technology and the operating system work Microsoft Windows Server 2016. It allows to use local hard drives servers for creation software-defined DWH with the high level of availability and scalability which are cheaper than traditional arrays SAN and NAS.

The technology of virtualization of data processing centers represents the solution which allows to increase efficiency, performance, availability and flexibility of IT infrastructures. The companies gradually pass to digital business processes, and implementation of hyper convergent infrastructures will become the next step forward. Hyper convergent solutions differ in high fault tolerance and dynamism therefore the companies will be able easily to adapt the information resources according to the changing business needs. At the same time in terms of economy of means it is not reasonable to create independently a basis for hyper convergent infrastructure since it is connected with heavy time expenses and requires special skills. To help the companies easily and just to pass to new technologies, Fujitsu and Microsoft jointly developed the reliable and integrated platform.

System configuration begins with two servers and can be scaled up to 16, with support to 800 virtual servers or jobs. As a part of technology opportunities for automation, economy of resources at maintenance of the equipment are offered.

The integrated PRIMEFLEX systems with support of Storage Spaces Direct technology will become available to the order and acquisition in EMEIA region since May, 2017. Cost depends on a configuration and the region.

Fujitsu Primeflex for OpenStack

On March 22, 2017 the Fujitsu company announced expansion of the Primeflex for OpenStack family by means of SUSE OpenStack Cloud.

The technological solution Primeflex for the OpenStack platform allows customers to execute smooth transfer of the local systems in a cloud environment. Functioning and performance of the corporate level is ensured.

A system became the first development of alliance Fujitsu and SUSE which the companies announced in November, 2016. Within this project cloud solutions, services of support and container technologies of the future will be created. Fujitsu developed jointly and SUSE, the version of the integrated PRIMEFLEX system for the OpenStack platform allows to transfer local resources to cloud environments and to start use of cloud computing. According to the statement of vendors, technologies of Fujitsu and SUSE provide risk-free implementation of the OpenStack platform as Primeflex helps to lower difficulties of installation of an environment of OpenStack.

Primeflex for OpenStack is focused on customers, persons interested it is simple, safely and quickly to estimate, and then to unroll a private environment of OpenStack within the first stage of transition to a cloud environment. The version of SUSE represents addition within a line of the integrated Primeflex systems, it includes set, both systems ready for operation, and reference architecture for the subsequent development.
