2020: Announcement of development of the medical robot
Innopolis university together with Kazan electrotechnical plant (KETZ) develops medical robot which among the first will receive the registration certificate Roszdravnadzor, reported on June 16, 2020 TASS in Russian IT- university. Specialists of IT university will develop SOFTWARE server parts medicalrobotic of a complex.
As it was reported, the robotic complex is at the operating table, and the operating doctor watches transaction on the screen and remotely manages manipulators using joysticks with buttons and pedals — in their amount 5. Pedals switch management between hands of the robot. The surgeon at the same time can manage four robotic hands with tools: video cameras, needle holders, scissors with coagulation, clips, etc. To the patient cuts into which hollow tubes for protection of an integument and bodies and tools with the video camera are inserted become.
It is supposed that development will help doctors of different profiles. Application of such robotic systems reduces a tremor of hands of the surgeon, reduces his fatigue and time of postoperative recovery of patients due to smaller invasiveness of the surgical procedure. By estimates of specialists of the University Innopolis and KETZ, pilot tests will begin in 1.5 — 2.
The command of the University Innopolis will write the software of a server part of the robot surgeon. The main task of developers of the Russian IT university — to think over software which will keep the detailed magazine of transaction: where there were robots in each timepoint what were given commands what tools were selected by the doctor how many times were used reusable tools, etc. Algorithms of transfers of commands to the robot from the joystick in hands of the physician are developed at the plant.
Create it software — a task uncommon. In case of an error during transaction the robot can potentially put to the patient heavy mutilations or lead to death operated therefore the software should conform to the highest standard of security (category C). We need to carry out the preliminary analysis of all risks and to consider them when planning architecture of software and also at its development. The program should transfer video of high resolution (up to 4K) on the screen before the doctor-surgeon with a delay no more than 40 milliseconds, to contain an intuitive user interface. Igor Gaponov, the head of Laboratory of the mechatronics, management and prototyping which is a part of Competence center of NTI in the "Component Technologies of Robotics and Mechatronics" direction based on the University Innopolis told |
According to the report of the International federation of robotics (IFR), the sales volume of medical robots grew by 50% in 2018 — up to 5100 devices from 3400 in 2017. These are about 2% of total sales of service robots, at the same time medical robotic complexes — some of the most expensive. It is supposed that this segment in the world will grow to $16.7 billion in 2023 (in 2018 — $6.46 billion). Rapid growth is connected with preferences of patients to minimum invasive procedures.
The scientific consultant of the KETZ project — the chief urologist of the ministry health care Russia, the head of the department of urology MGMSU, the academician RAS, professor Dmitry Pushkar. In the Russian Federation robotic complexes for transactions develop also Assisting Surgical Technologies and Institute of design-technology information sciences RAS.
