In the middle of June, 2020 it became known of emergence at the international airport of Sabiha Gokcen in Istanbul (Turkey) of the robot developed by Promobot company. He advises passengers, answers their different questions and helps with navigation.
The robot received the sensors of obstacles developed in Russia thanks to which independent operation of the equipment is ensured. The device by means of sensors freely moves, avoiding an obstacle even in places of the increased accumulation of people, such as airport.
The robot of the Russian company at the Istanbul airport is equipped with the scanner of tickets: he helps to find the boarding gate or to orient in the terminal, tells about rules of conduct and security, helps to call the taxi. The robot knows several languages: Russian, English, Turkish, Arab and Spanish.
The airport of Sabiha Gokcen services about 30 million passengers a year - it is one of the most loaded airports of Europe — the official representative of Promobot in Turkey Selchuk Yaran says. — Digitalization helps the airport to cope with such loading, having exempted personnel from routine work. As a rule, passengers at the airport ask identical questions, and the robot excludes all errors of a human factor: he will not insult, will be polite and will never forget important information. |
The airport of Sabiha Gokcen has the special certificate of Department of Civil Aviation of Turkey granting the right to work during COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
According to the development director of Promobot Oleg Kivokurtsev, in addition to Istanbul, robots of the company are installed at the airports of the USA, Chile, at Vnukovo Airport.
The Russian technologies in the field of service robotics already considerably are ahead of competitors, and we are only going to grow — he said.[1] |
