XRspace Manova

2020: Start of social network

At the beginning of July, 2020 the former CEO of HTC Peter Chou started social network in virtual reality. The service received the name XRspace Manova - it is the complex social VR platform including the equipment (XRspace Mova headsets), the software, content and services. It is supposed that the new social network will allow users "rethink how people communicate and cooperate in the virtual world".

The XRspace Mova display with fastening is positioned as "the first-ever consumer mobile VR 5G headset" and works at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile XR platform. Additional controllers for navigation on the virtual world are not necessary. The new digital Universe of XRspace Manova is filled with interactive and social content in the field of education, games, health care, entertainments and many other. In this virtual world people can hold working meetings, study in virtual classrooms, walk on the downtown, visit the beach, go to the cinema and even to dance in night club.

XRspace positions Manova as "the platform of social reality" which goes beyond space and time, and each user is provided by the full-fledged avatars similar to the prototype. Besides, the Mova HMD headset is equipped with optical pickups which are connected to "the patented technology of scanning" which can interpret gestures of hands and analyze space of the real world for reconstruction of physical locations in the VR application.

To start the platform, XRspace got support of a great number of partners from different areas of the equipment, telecommunications and developers of creative content, including Qualcomm, Deutsche Telekom, the Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom, GQ, Vogue and Getty.^[1]
