2020: Cooperation with 3D Bioprinting Solutions on development of technology of creation of chicken meat using 3D - the bioprinter
On July 16, 2020 Zdrav.Expert became known that KFC begins in Russia cooperation with laboratory of the technical researches 3D Bioprinting Solutions on development of technology of creation of chicken meat using 3D - the bioprinter. The idea of craft "future meat" arose at partners as the response to growth of popularity of a healthy lifestyle and, as a result, a power supply, annual increase in demand for alternative substitutes of traditional meat and the need for development of more eco-friendly methods of production of foodstuff. The chicken nuggets created in laboratory which to taste and appearance will be as close as possible to the original product KFC will become result of development, but thus will be more eco-friendly in comparison with normal meat. Partners are going to receive a ready-made product for testing in the fall of 2020 in Moscow.
Within the Solutions 3D Bioprinting project, one of representatives in area of bioprinting, will develop technology of three-dimensional bioprinting using cages of chicken and vegetable raw materials who will allow to reproduce taste and texture of chicken meat practically without participation in this process of animals. KFC will provide all necessary ingredients - a breading and spices - for achievement of corporate taste of an end product. For July 16, 2020 in the market there are no analogs of technology of three-dimensional bioprinting, allowing to create complex products on the basis of animal cages.
The method of bioprinting has several advantages. So, craft meat contains the same microelements, as normal, but by its production hit in an end product of the different additives admissible in traditional farming and livestock production therefore products on the basis of cellular meat more environmentally friendly and more ethic - by their production harming animals is excluded is excluded. Along with this KFC remains to the committed principles of care of animals and works on permanent improvement of keeping of a bird on farms and throughout all supply chain, including cultivation, transportation and processing.
Also, according to a research of the American magazine Environmental Science & Technology Journal, the technology of cultivation of cellular meat makes the minimum negative impact on the environment, allowing to reduce amount of the consumed energy more than twice, to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere by 25 times and to use 100 times less earth, than at cultivation of animals for production of traditional meat products.
