The cloud of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud became for the first time available in local infrastructure of clients

At the beginning of August, 2020 the cloud platform of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud became for the first time available in local infrastructure of clients. The German producer of the corporate software made the decision on implementation of such opportunity in response to reaction of clients which takes place in the conditions of the increasing digital sovereignty, the amplifying pressure to observance of requirements in the market and the increasing risks of data storage in a cloud.

Access to the local version of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is provided through partner IaaS- service HPE GreenLake which clients pay solutions on a measure of their use.

The new project became the direct answer to clients who need flexibility and the service level of the managed private cloud, but which at the same time need to store the systems in own data centers — the head of global department of corporate cloud services of SAP Peter Pluim says. — We are going to make it possible using cloud services of HPE GreenLake and additional services and services for management of applications from SAP which will help to disclose value and to create new opportunities for our joint clients.

Bring into SAP data of analysts of IDC according to which 70% of applications by August, 2020 work outside public cloud infrastructures because of their several shortcomings, among which:

• high cost;
• unpredictability of expenses;
• insufficient security level;
• complexity of applications.

The local version of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud will be on sale "on a turn-key basis" together with a set of the equipment of HPE (servers, storage systems, the network equipment) and already configured software of SAP. Product cost by August 7, 2020 is not sounded.^[1]
