2020: CIO в S7 Group
In September 2020, Ruslan Vereshchagin took the position of First Deputy General Director for Information Technologies of S7 Group instead of Pavel Voronin, who left for Sberbank. Read more here.
Ruslan has been working for the company for more than 17 years. Under his leadership, large-scale core projects were implemented: the transition of S7 Airlines to an updated passenger service system - PSS Altea from Amadeus, the introduction of a platform for working with the agency network, including the Smart Ticketing application for booking transportation with the possibility of mutual settlements through the blockchain, the transition to the SIGMA transportation documentation accounting system.
2025: Appointment as CEO of AFLT Systems
At the end of December 2025, Ruslan Vereshchagin was appointed to the post of General Director of AFLT Systems, a subsidiary of Aeroflot's IT structure. Previously, he served as First Deputy General Director for Information Technology of S7 Group.
AFLT Systems specializes in the creation and development of software for the aviation industry. The company participates in the implementation of digital transformation projects of the largest air carriers in Russia, helping to increase the efficiency of their activities by introducing digital solutions. The main areas of activity are solutions for e-commerce, portal systems and import substitution of software.
As the head of AFLT Systems, Vereshchagin replaced Denis Popov, who was appointed director of the Aeroflot Information Systems Department. In addition, in this airline, Popov acts as deputy general director for information technology and information security - after the departure of Anton Matskevich.
Industry experts associate all these personnel changes with a massive cyber attack on Aeroflot at the end of July 2025. Then a large-scale failure occurred in the air carrier's IT systems, which caused dozens of flights to be canceled. It is estimated that at least 20,000 passengers were affected by the incident.[1]
