RKS created "cloud" for the space-rocket industry

2020: Creation of cloud infrastructure

The Russian Space Systems holding (RKS, is included into Roskosmos State corporation) completed creation of cloud infrastructure for Roskosmos state corporation and reported about it on September 30, 2020. The data center of RKS (a data processing center – DPC) already allowed to unload a part of IT personnel of the companies and to increase efficiency of IT infrastructure of all industry.

RKS in addition to devices of space appointment, traditional for holding of creation, more and more actively acts in recent years as the developer of digital services on the basis of data of remote sensing of Earth and navigation. Within development of competences in the field of holding cloud infrastructure which within several last years was scaled for work within all state corporation was created.

For RKS this new quality – to be a supplier of cloud services. It is very responsible role. Experience showed that transition to a cloud technology unloaded a part of IT personnel and also distributed load of servers. According to us, optimization of industry IT infrastructure allowed to increase its efficiency by 20–30%.

The DPC of RKS for September, 2020 godp contains more than 300 racks of the equipment which are used for formation of uniform "cloud" to which all enterprises of Roskosmos are connected. It allows to store safely data, to make computing transactions and also to ensure communication and joint work of certain specialists and the whole enterprises of the industry.
