At the end of October, 2020 there was a project of the first-ever building site where only robots will work. Control will be exercised using the open platform for independent operation which can be upgraded taking into account the existing park of industrial equipment.

On a global scale the construction sector is under pressure because of labor shortage, growth of material cost and market shifts. The pandemic aggravated a situation, and difficulties with search of skilled workers began to be experienced to 83% of contractors. Automation began to look very attractive solution of this problem.

The first-ever building site where only robots work is developed, SafeAI and Obayashi Corporation participate in the project

As a result the SafeAI AI company and the Japanese civil engineering firm Obayashi Corporation started a pilot project on creation of the autonomous building site in the USA. For this Obayashi Corporation made the strategic investments in SafeAI in April, 2020 and planned start of a pilot project for November, 2020. For a start SafeAI will provide a management system for autonomous Caterpillar dump truck 725 and will show the automated loading unloading cycles. The pilot project will be started on the building site in San Francisco (California).
