Since 1999, he worked at Menatep Bank St. Petersburg(since 2005 -), National Bank "TRUST" where he went from leading economist of the interbank department to crediting deputy head of the Operations Department financial.
2004: SIAB Bank
Since 2004, he has been working at SIAB Bank as Head of the Treasury.

2024: Appointment to the position of Chairman of Finstar Bank
At the end of November 2024, Alexey Mityugov was appointed the new chairman of the board of Finstar Bank. He replaced Gennady Salych, who led the credit institution since August 2023.

The press service of Finstar Bank emphasized that Alexey Mityugov has rich experience in the banking sector and has been a top manager of the bank for many years, actively participating in the development and implementation of key strategic initiatives.
According to Interfax, Finstar Bank, in the first nine months of 2024, in terms of assets, 10.2 billion rubles, ranks 180th among Russian banks. In addition to his head office, he has two branches in St. Petersburg, one in the Leningrad region and two more in Moscow.
The change of the head of Finstar Bank occurred after at the end of November 2024, the bank, along with six St. Petersburg credit institutions, it was included in the US sanctions list.[1]
