2021: Smart Monitors M5 and M7
On May 24, 2021, Samsung introduced the expansion of the M5 and M7 Smart Monitors line.
Now users have an M7 monitor (with UHD resolution) with an increased diagonal of 43 inches, as well as an M5 model (with FHD resolution) with a more compact, 24-inch matrix. In addition, the entire M5 line is represented in white.
The Samsung Smart Monitor series was launched in November 2020 as a line of universal monitors designed to meet the needs of modern users. Monitors allow you to work with Microsoft 365 applications without connecting to your computer, and also provide additional capabilities for interfacing with mobile devices and PCs.
The Smart Monitor M7 is equipped with an even larger screen, which will increase productivity and increase entertainment opportunities. The monitor itself has received a "frameless" design, a 4K screen with Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution, so that it can be used as a reliable monitor for work or as a center for home entertainment. To do this, the device has built-in applications for working with streaming video services, speakers and HRD10 support for optimizing 4K content viewing.
The Smart Monitor M5 with 27-inch and 32-inch diagonals (M50A model) perfectly combines with a minimalist design and will be a great finishing touch to any interior.
The Smart Monitor M5 with a diagonal of 24 inches (model M50A) is presented with a modification with a full HD screen. This is the most affordable model in the Smart Monitor line.
Samsung also introduced a number of additional features in its monitors. For example, Universal Guide offers recommendations based on analysis of user preferences and viewing templates - thus, fully personalized offers and recommendations are available for applications such as Netflix, Prime Video and others.
Bl is updated and voice assistant - now it supports not only the Bixby service, but also work with other services, such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. In June 2021, the Remote Access feature will also be updated and called "PC on Screen" - with its help, users will be able to easily, easily and securely connect the monitor to external computers.
The 43-inch model comes complete with a versatile remote control, which is made of recycled plastic and works on solar panels - the ability to charge from natural sunlight, artificial lighting or through a USB-C port.
Users can tap their personal mobile devices using Tap View, Mirroring, or Apple AirPlay 2. In addition, thanks to Samsung DeX, users can work with their mobile devices as a full-fledged desktop computer by connecting the monitor to a smartphone or tablet.
2020: Samsung Smart Monitor Presentation
On November 16, 2020, Samsung Electronics announced the global availability of the Smart Monitor model.
Designed to meet the needs of today's users, who are now increasingly working, learning and leisure at home, the Samsung Smart Monitor includes powerful capabilities for connecting to mobile devices and PCs and can be used both for remote home office and training. In addition, the device includes a comprehensive Smart Hub entertainment center. The same center is implemented in the Samsung Smart TV platform.
Users can connect their personal mobile devices to the monitor to a simple touch using applications Tap View and App Casting or Apple AirPlay 2 technologies. To give the mobile device functionality close to that of a desktop computer, a docking station must be connected to the gadget. Samsung DeX
When used in home office mode or for training, the monitor allows you to work with Microsoft Office 365 applications without connecting to a PC using the built-in Wi-Fi adapter. This allows users to view, edit, and save documents to the cloud directly from the monitor. Remote Access also allows you to wirelessly and remotely access files on your PC, or view content from your laptop, whether it's at home or in the office. The USB Type-C port transmits data, displays the contents of the screen and provides power - up to 65W - all through a single cable, so the workspace is free of unnecessary wires. Multiple USB ports and Bluetooth 4.2 support provide additional connectivity flexibility. In addition, the monitor is equipped with built-in dual-channel speakers.
With the app store in the monitor, users can view their favorite content, including from Netflix, HBO or YouTube services, even without connecting a computer or mobile device. To access content and control playback, you can use the included remote control, which has quick-start keys for streaming video services.
Adaptive Picture optimizes image quality for all viewing conditions by automatically adjusting brightness and color temperature to match room lighting. This provides the most comfortable viewing in any environment, reducing the load on the eyes even when used for a long time. The monitor also implements a special mode of vision protection by reducing the blue part of the spectrum.
At the time of launch, the monitor is available in two series. The M7 supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) and is presented in a 32-inch version, and the M5 supports Full HD (FHD) and is presented in 32-inch and 27-inch versions. Both models run OS Tizen version 5.5.
Samsung's Smart Monitor will be on sale from November 16 in the United States, Canada and China, and from the end of November Samsung plans to expand the sales geography. The appearance of the device in Russia will be announced additionally.
