2020: Training of specialists on synthesis of metal powders for additive technologies

On November 24, 2020 it became known that at once two pilot groups complete training in the program of occupational retraining in the field of technologies of synthesis metal one - and multicomponent powders for powder metallurgy and additive technologies. To the order of Fund of infrastructure and educational programs (FIOP) of Group of RUSNANO the Institute of metallurgy and materials science of A.A. Baykov (IMET RAS) of the Russian Academy of Sciences was engaged in its software development.

As it was explained, PJSC Severstal became the initiator of emergence of the program. Scopes of powder metallurgy around the world promptly extend, covering the most knowledge-intensive and hi-tech directions. For November, 2020 on this technology make ship screws, sliding bearings, implants, hot strength alloys, superconductors, photovoltaic materials, alloys for soldering, a special tool and the equipment, wearproof support of rolling mills, cores of transformers, magnetic components, fuel elements and other precision products Mimtekhnology. Wider prospects are offered for additive manufacturing.

Severstal produces raw materials for powder metallurgy and additive technologies, but product assortment is still narrow. In the development strategy of the company expansion of the powder direction, including for 3D - printing is put. Production of tens of metal powders, different in structure, is supposed. For this reason the enterprise needs the advancing preparation of the engineering personnel capable to be engaged in development of materials, including under needs of specific customers. For the first time Fonda was engaged in development of the industry educational program with participation the academic institute subordinated to the Ministry of science and the higher education of the Russian Federation.

Most of research associates of institute are busy with basic and application studies and development of materials and products. The experience of IMET RAS got when developing this program intends to replicate, developing training courses for experts specialists in all four main directions of the researches: not only on nonferrous and ferrous metallurgy, but also on ceramics (oxygen-free and oxygen), to composites and biomaterials.

We for this purpose have schools which know all processes during creation of these materials. It would be correct if this experience was useful in the real sector of production.

Alexander Anokhin, the head of group of authors of the program, the associate director on scientific work of IMET RAS told

He told that in the long term there are plans of creation of the Open engineering university which would train specialists – researchers, developers, technologists, designers and programmers focused on creation of different products and technologies. At the same time there will be a focusing on the modern technical solutions allowing to create industry technology chains for production.

The educational program is expected 500 hours of training of two target groups: development engineers on technology of synthesis of metal powders and production engineers for production of powder products. Lecture intensiv online is carried out, and for a possibility of repetition of material record is kept. About a half of time of training is taken away on accomplishment of the nauchnoissledovatelsky and developmental works (NDW) on the priority directions of Severstal.

Alexander Anokhin is sure that results of these researches will be used for implementation at the enterprise, "will definitely not lay down on a regiment". Specialists of profile universities of the country were involved in development of the educational program: Petrozavodsk state university (Karelia), Cherepovets state university (Vologda region), Moscow polytechnical university, Baltic state university "Military Mechanical Institute" (St. Petersburg), Moscow state technology university "STANKI" and other partners.

For training and practice the research base of the Moscow polytechnical university, the Cherepovets State University (CSU), etc. is used. Training during approbation of two pilot groups of specialists became at once one more feature of the program. The first consists of the staff of Severstal who is enlisted in the Moscow Polytechnic University, and another was brought together from the students of Polytechnic University sent to Cherepovets State University these are future trainees or the staff of Severstal.

There are plans of scaling of the program in Military Mechanical Institute, the Petrozavodsk and Vladimir State Universities and other universities that in addition to master degree their students had an opportunity to receive additional engineering specialty.

In an expert response capability of graduates of a training course is especially selected for the educational program which prepared JSC Kompozit from the city of Korolyov situated near Moscow to execute approbation of technologies of receiving nano - and fine metal materials for powder metallurgy and additive technologies and also to optimize and upgrade productions from them for the purpose of decrease in labor input and cost. The director of the Tula Metsintez LLC Anatoly Kasimtsev noted that the professional competences created by the program answer the current requests of the companies and therefore "the program has relevance".

We showed in practice a possibility of building of an educational horizontal from a stage of exploratory basic researches before industrial production in such area as additive technologies. I do not exclude that this educational product or its separate modules can be a basis of individual educational trajectories of students masters with orientation to the real sector of economy.
