Opening of an aviation training center with a focus on flight safety

Geoskan Group of Companies on August 22, 2024 announced the opening of an aviation training center in St. Petersburg in a new format. The educational site, created to train a wide range of specialists in the civil aviation industry, including ALS, will specialize in training employees who can ensure high safety of work. Up to 150 people will be able to study there a month.

The training center implements several advanced training programs. The flagship course is the "Safety Management System (DBMS) for management and specialists of service providers." This program will allow students to develop and implement a comprehensive risk management system related to the use of aviation equipment.

In 40 hours of training, specialists will tell you step-by-step actions for the construction of SUBs, the development of relevant documentation, explain the potential threats and principles of effective response to emergency situations. The theoretical block is based on the approved world standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization, the standards of the International Air Transport Association, as well as other leading industry associations. The practical part forms the basis of the program and takes into account the peculiarities of the functioning of the DBMS for different representatives of the industry.

The safety management system is different in each organization - it depends on the direction of the company. To talk about relevant risks and mechanisms for managing them, we primarily analyze the composition of students, and then adapt the course for them. Of course, there is a curriculum that has been approved by the Federal Air Transport Agency, which defines the reference points of the organization of the SUB. But we are already choosing a specific content of classes and practical cases in accordance with the specifics and real needs of companies. For example, in the company GSP-6 LLC, whose specialists have recently been trained, there is a developed quality management system, so we have selected material for them that can organically integrate SUBs into existing processes, - said Roman Korneev, chief specialist in aviation safety at Geoskan Group of Companies.

We are pleased with the opportunity to expand our training center, which is now located in a very convenient location near the Lakhta Center. These premises made it possible not only to increase the number of students to 36 people at a time, but also to place all the necessary demonstration materials and samples of our equipment. In addition, we look forward to cooperation with the Gorskaya airfield to carry out training flights on it, "commented Nikita Solovyov, head of the aviation training center in St. Petersburg at Geoskan.

Geoskan also continues to teach basic competencies and conduct professional training for ALS operators as part of one or more unmanned aircraft. In addition to author's courses, the training center can take practical classes under the program "External BVS pilot with a maximum take-off weight of 30 kg or less," developed jointly with the ANO DPO "PROFPILOT Aviation Training Center" and the AERONEXT Association, and pass the qualification exam.

Electronic Surface Mounting Line Upgrade

Geoskan Group of Companies has modernized the line of surface installation of electronic components. The updated hardware allows you to install SMD components completely in automatic mode. This significantly improves the quality of the boards produced, minimizes possible errors and increases performance by 40 percent. The company announced this on June 25, 2024.

The SMD components installation line at Geoskan was equipped with an automatic PCB loader and unloader, an intelligent printer for automatic application of solder paste through a stencil, another SMD component installer, and an 11-zone convection furnace.

Earlier, during surface installation of electronic modules, the boards were put into the machine and unloaded from it manually, and solder paste was also applied. Now the process is automated: the loader places the board in a printer, where it is recognized by machine vision and combined with the stencil, after which the paste is distributed. Then the board is moved to the installer, which arranges the components, and then the solder is melted in the furnace. At the outlet, the unloader unfolds the finished products. Specialists can only wash the remaining flux, carry out control and give it to the next stages of production.

This SMT line will be used both for the launch of pilot models and for serial production.

Modernization allowed us to mount all the necessary types of boards, quickly reconfigure equipment between different products and significantly increase the installation speed. This is important in the context of growing demand and large volumes of production of unmanned complexes under a state civil order within the framework of the BAS national project, - commented Anton Kosov, head of production at Geoskan Group of Companies.

Training will be carried out on industrial aircraft manufactured by Geoskan Group of Companies: aircraft-type models (Geoskan 201, Geoskan 701), and multirotor type (Geoskan Gemini, Geoskan 401, Geoskan 801). In addition to work complexes, classes are equipped with training layouts, computers with the necessary software for working with ALS, simulator systems.

Following the successful completion of the course, the qualification "Specialist in the operation of ALS, including one or more BVS with a maximum take-off weight of 30 kg or less" is assigned, a certificate of the established sample is issued indicating the types of BVS studied. Training under this program allows you to simultaneously pilot several unmanned aircraft at once, both in line of sight and beyond.

File:Aquote1.png
In accordance with the national project "Unmanned aircraft systems" in the Russian Federation until 2030, it is necessary to train more than 1 million specialized specialists, including in terms of the operation of ALS. We see this as an important task for ourselves. Our corporate training centers will become sites for high-quality training of specialists who can ensure high safety of aviation operations, effective exchange of professional knowledge and experience, career guidance work with young people, development of partnership with educational organizations. The new educational program will complement the already existing for many years briefing program for buyers and current users of Geoskan products.
