2021: Veritas purchased HubStor

In the middle of January, 2021 the software developer for protection and data management of Veritas purchased the creator of the platform of cloud computing of HubStor. It is expected that the transaction will provide to Veritas access to technology of backup (BaaS) with strong cloud base Microsoft Azure. Financial terms of transaction do not reveal.

Responsible for development of solutions SaaS Simon Gelli in Veritas announced that the transaction is already closed. According to him, the company decided to purchase HubStor as looked for the best method to enter the backup market as services.

HubStor offers the detailed, scalable and easy-to-customize corporate solution, - he told. - They also have an impressive record of service at the enterprise, including with some clients of Veritas. These two facts already indicate to us a good start.

Though Veritas is one of the largest if not the largest software developer for protection and data management, and already has good positions in respect of data protection on the basis of SaaS, HubStor offers the company some opportunities which will help to reduce backup time.

HubStor as Gelli noted, will also allow to strengthen cooperation of Veritas with Microsoft as HubStor has a 20 years' experience of business with this corporation through the products constructed on Azure. Veritas meanwhile offers data protection of SaaS using Veritas CloudPoint, a cloud solution for data backup in a cloud and also the EV.cloud technology for cloud archiving and data migration for Microsoft 365 and other applications.

According to Gelli, Veritas is going to integrate HubStor technology with the platform of corporate services of data, in particular, to help the NetBackup technology better to process data of Microsoft 365.^[1]
