Fedor Shcherbakov manages the 1st MediaInvest media holding. He founded 1MI in 2015, and since then the company has reached the federal level, strengthening its position in the media market. It includes more than 20 news portals in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as the famous "Soviet Sport" and "Oil and Capital" - the leading analytical journal of the industry in the Russian Federation. The media holding successfully develops its own media and supports events aimed at improving the quality of regional journalism in general. For example, the media award "Spark of the South 2020" received information support from the 1MI. Every year, more than 300 journalists and teams of authors of the Southern Federal District, the North Caucasus Federal District, and Crimea submit applications for participation in the award. Holding-owned RostovGazeta and NewsTracker are among them. Both 1MI and the founders of the award are interested in the quality of texts and the professionalism of local journalists constantly growing. Effective manager for Lenfilm
In September 2020, Fedor Shcherbakov replaced Inessa Yurchenko as general director of Lenfilm and immediately began work on the financial recovery of the legendary film studio. By the end of the year, it was possible to resolve the issue of the main debts to VTB Bank, which threatened Lenfilm with bankruptcy. The new leader is actively working to return the "golden collection" - films, the rights to which were lost in the 1990s, as well as on the strategy for the development of the film studio in the modern conditions of the film market. In an interview in his new position, Fedor said that Lenfilm would retain its main activities and would not be privatized. According to him, "there is not a single film studio in our country that could return to the process that was in Soviet times. This is due to the fact that the market has changed, "so Lenfilm" will become a new studio with new opportunities. "
How a former journalist became the head of a film studio
The Lenfilm film studio needed primarily an experienced manager who was able to take measures to stabilize the difficult financial situation. According to the Ministry of Culture of Russia, Shcherbakov's candidacy was ideal for this. Fyodor Shcherbakov, who graduated from the journalism department of Moscow State University, had a chance to work as an editor on Channel One, then there was Interfax, but no longer a journalistic, but a PR department. In the early 2010s, he headed the non-profit organization Sport of the Highest Achievements, then worked at the Resorts of the North Caucasus OJSC. From 2013 to 2019, he was an adviser to the first vice president of Russian Railways and the general director of High-Speed Highways JSC.

2024: Wanted List
In February 2024 MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia , Fyodor Lenfilm Shcherbakov, the general director of the film studio, was put on the wanted list. The agency's website states that the cinematographer is wanted under a criminal article, but it does not specify which one.
According to Fontanka, Fyodor Shcherbakov's wanted list is not related to the film studio, but to his business. According to the publication, the director of Lenfilm is in a criminal case as a witness, and it is connected with his business. Fontanka indicated that Shcherbakov is the director of a large media holding, which includes federal and regional media, as well as industry media and large publics.
According to TASS, Fedor Shcherbakov is wanted in connection with the criminal case of extortion from the top manager of Rostec Vasily Brovko. Investigators want to conduct an audit against the head of Lenfilm for the possible involvement of Shcherbakov in this crime, a law enforcement source told the agency. The TASS interlocutor did not provide additional details and did not specify in what status Shcherbakov is in the case. At the same time, according to the law, witnesses in the criminal case are not put on the wanted list, the newspaper notes.
At the same time, the press service of Lenfilm reported that Shcherbakov was on vacation until February 29, 2024. Until that time, the acting general director will be deputy general director for security Alexei Tratnikov.
Earlier, Fedor Shcherbakov left Russia due to the threat of criminal prosecution. According to the Ura.ru, Shcherbakov moved to Turkey after his partner in many projects, PR officer Anton Safonov, was arrested for extortion from the top manager of Rostec.
Safonov is accused of extorting over 2 million rubles from the top manager of Rostec Vasily Brovko, the husband of TV presenter Tina Kandelaki. According to the investigation, Safonov and another person involved, Stanislav Deineko, demanded money from Brovko in exchange for refusing to publish incriminating information on the Nebrekhnya Telegram channel. They pleaded not guilty.[1]
