2021: Additional data centers in Vilnius

DEAC announced on February 2, 2021 addition of a partner network with data centers in Vilnius and investment of 1 million euros into upgrade in Riga.

In addition to the next location, DEAC in Riga have two own data centers with powers of 2.3 MW and 0.4 MW and in the course of construction for February, 2021 the third from 4 MW and additional 400 racks. Also for many years partnership with data centers in Moscow, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Kiev and Amsterdam is developed. The close geographic location of Riga and Vilnius allows to build together IT infrastructure at the level of the Baltic region for clients with high requirements to equipment capacity and amounts of data.

Thanks to direct and fast connections with a speed h10 the Gbps can offer universal IT solutions and a reliable cloud or infrastructure for placement of the equipment and servers for the purpose of backup and also risk diversification in Europe and Russia, – Andris Gaylitis, the CEO of DEAC company comments. In 2020 the Latvian DEAC and the Lithuanian DLC became a part of Quaero Capital investment fund.

Meanwhile, DEAC also started implementation of the plan for expansion of data center Riga and increase in its energy efficiency, the planned investments for 2021 make 1 million euros. In January, 2021 DEAC added two Kohler-SDMO generators and also updated cooling systems Vertiv Liebert HPC chillers, for improvement of an indicator of PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness). Prepares for this DEAC data center for compliance to requirements of Europe for "climatic neutrality" by 2030.

Within updating and increase in environmental friendliness of DEAC outdated luminescent light sources were also replaced with energy saving LED lamps. High-quality lighting and considerable annual power saving was as a result provided.

In addition to investments into infrastructure of data center Riga, funds will be allocated for quality improvement of service for clients of small business and partners, using the updated platform of self-service for automation of virtualization and standard configurations of dedicated servers.
