2021: Implement Technologies for Training and Modeling

On February 12, 2021, Softline announced the completion of equipping two sites of the Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children of the Sverdlovsk Region with multivendor equipment and software. Using the company's training kits, devices and software, talented students will be able to engage in project activities in the fields of neurotechnology, VR, prototyping, big data and the Internet of Things, as well as master programs in the technical and natural science field. Thus, the implemented project will contribute to the creation of promising developments in the region and will help the center interest the most capable students of the Sverdlovsk region.

According to the company, in 2019, the Sverdlovsk region was chosen as a pilot site for the creation of a regional center for supporting gifted children, which was opened in the fall of 2020. The regional operator of its creation was the Golden Section Fund for Supporting Talented Children and Youth. The purpose of opening such centers is to organize systematic work with talented youth - to identify the most motivated children and their regular training in the following areas: natural science disciplines, technical creativity (design), sports and art.

To carry out successful design and research work with students on technical and natural-scientific profiles, teachers needed other approaches to training, which were impossible without the use of technological equipment and modern software. As a result, the leadership of the Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children of the Sverdlovsk Region turned to Softline with the task of equipping two training sites of the center with modern equipment. Global provider IT- services and services and earlier actively participated in implementation of the Education national project, delivering in educational institutions through the whole country modern hardware and software.

At the start of the project, the Softline team conducted a market analysis and proposed a list of equipment and a training methodology in the areas indicated by the client - VR, the Internet of Things, big data and prototyping. Specialists selected both highly specialized training devices, as well as standard IT equipment and software according to the requirements of the customer. In addition, Softline experts held several conferences with vendor engineers to familiarize the center staff with the products offered. This helped the client to clarify the issues that interested him, get detailed advice and choose the most suitable solutions.

As part of the state contract, Softline equipped training sites with equipment from leading vendors, and also carried out commissioning. The first to work was the Yekaterinburg site on the basis of the Youth Palace on the street. Opalikhinskaya, d.18, where already in the fall of 2020 classes on robotics, drones, VR, prototyping, the Internet of Things and big data started. On this site, students of the center study project activities - create works within the framework of selected engineering and natural-scientific areas that correspond to the trends of the modern world. Using the equipment sets supplied by Softline, students invent and design electronic devices based on microcomputers. To perform work in the field of the Internet of things, the guys use specialized educational kits for quick prototyping, allowing them to assemble electronic devices with a certain functionality and connectivity. These kits help develop the creative thinking of both the student and his mentor. Also, teachers of the center were trained in working with machines and training and production complexes for prototyping delivered by Softline. The training was organized by the manufacturer of these devices - Unimatic, the equipment of which most closely corresponded to the client's tasks and replenished the Softline product portfolio at the start of the project.

In the educational process of developing virtual and augmented reality objects, talented schoolchildren and their teachers use VR equipment, workstations and software supplied by the provider. On endpoints, students can also test the virtual spaces they create. With these modern and exciting tools, the teachers of the center motivate students to master information in 3D modeling, programming, system administration and user interface design.

For the work of students in the Big Data direction, the Softline team designed and delivered HPE server equipment, workstations and Statistica software of StatSoft, which was recently included in Softline Group of Companies. With the help of Statistica, the guys learn to build correlations, graphs of interdependence and, based on the results obtained, form forecasts and provide analytics, identifying trends in large amounts of data in any area depending on the theme of their project.

The second educational platform that Softline equipped was the Tavatuy country center. Being the main innovative platform of the network of the Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children, Tavatuy prepares schoolchildren for the All-Russian competition "Big Challenges" (held under the auspices of Sirius in Sochi). In neurotechnology, one of the areas of the Big Challenges project educational program, Softline experts also developed a specification and delivered neurospecting to the laboratory of neuro- and cognitive technologies of the suburban center. This is both a professional electroencephalograph and training kits in the field of neurotechnology of vendor BiTronics Lab, whose solutions are also included in the Softline product portfolio for the first time. Students successfully use these devices to conduct cognitive research. On their basis, the guys identify and compare the processes that occur in the human brain, recognize electrical impulses and build interdependencies. Then the detected electrical signal of the human brain is transmitted to the terminal device - on this principle, the guys create projects related to the control of external devices, prosthetics.

We are glad that the Softline team once again participates in the project aimed at the development of Russian education. Solutions, devices and training kits delivered by our specialists are already being used by teachers of the center in project and research work with talented schoolchildren. We hope that digital technologies will help the children master the programs of the technical and natural-scientific direction and acquire the skills required for work in innovative fields. We will certainly rely on the experience gained by the team during the implementation of this project to equip other regional centers for the identification and support of gifted children according to the Sirius model, the opening of which is planned for the next three years.

spoke about the importance of the project Alexey Maltsev, head of the team of the department for working with state and academic organizations of Softline

Thanks to the help of Softline specialists, we were able to select modern solutions that are most suitable for organizing an effective educational process in the Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children of the Sverdlovsk Region. Modern software and hardware was delivered by Softline as soon as possible - by the time the center was opened. With the help of devices, since the fall of 2020, our capable students have been performing various research and applied tasks. As for the project activity, the delivered software will be used by the guys in the preparation of project cases during educational shifts within the framework of the Big Challenges and Sirius Summer programs.
