American intelligence buys thousands of chest chambers

Customers: United States Secret Service

State and social structures

Project date: 2021/03

In early March 2021, it became known that American intelligence is buying thousands of chest chambers that agents will wear in the line of duty. In October 2020, the US Department of Justice allowed members of federal task forces to use such tools.

Cameras will store at least 12 hours of video with a resolution of 1080 pixels and, ideally, 24 hours with a resolution of 8K. The field of view of the cameras should be at least 150 degrees, ideally 180 degrees, and in addition, they should include night vision capabilities and, if necessary, be fixed to the vehicle.

Activation and deactivation of the camera can be carried out either manually or automatically, for example, when a weapon or stun gun is taken out of the holster. Live broadcasts can be activated and controlled remotely, and all videos will be equipped with timestamps and dates. In addition, you can link GPS remotely or manually to cameras.

The US Secret Service also wants to be able to classify and label the videos taken. Cameras will be able to remotely monitor internal memory, and downloads will be carried out using wireless and wired networks.

Cameras will upload video locally or to a cloud platform certified by the Federal Risk Management Program within 10 minutes, and ideally 5 minutes after activation. The device will delete this data after loading.

Video files that are not used as evidence will be stored for at least 30, and ideally 90 days, while the desired range of evidence files will be from 3 to 32 years. Exploration also wants to automate the permanent storage of a number of files.

Video logs will be available for audit, and the cloud platform will be equipped with access controls that can withstand DOS attacks and data theft attempts. [1]]
