2021: Implementation of end-to-end online robotics training

On March 5, 2021, ROBBO announced the introduction of an end-to-end online robotics training system in ROBBOClub.Ru. The online educational platform ROBBO LMS (Learning Management System) was launched as part of the STI Development program with the support of a grant from the Innovation Assistance Fund.

According to the company, in early 2020, ROBBO, which is developing the international network of robotics circles ROBBOClub.Ru, faced the need to transfer classes in more than 150 clubs around the world to online mode. The transition to remote programming and robotics lessons forced the company to look differently at the technological provision of classes at ROBBO Clubs.

On the basis of the LMS platform, the ROBBO LMS system was deployed, designed to organize remote classes with students in the field of programming, robotics and 3D modeling. The developers and the methodological department of the ROBBO company adapted the platform to the tasks of children's technical education. So, in addition to the main components of LMS, such as video lessons, "virtual boards" and group chats, a workbook with technical tasks for students appeared in the system. This is a convenient tool for studying the basics of programming, which is used by schoolchildren both in the course of classes and in the course of homework.

In addition, the system includes tools for programming robots in a virtual environment. The two-dimensional simulator of its own development "ROBBO" is designed to teach children classical robot programming using a visual language. And Scratch very soon robot , a Gazebo simulator based on engineering will also appear in LMS, ON which will help children move from theory to inventions: create virtual prototypes of robots and program them even before they are made in reality. All these tools make robotics training in video tutorial format no less effective than in an offline class. Moreover, it is not necessary to buy additional equipment for working with ROBBO LMS - it is enough computer to get into. Internet

This interactive online training format required updating the ROBBO Clubs methodological materials. In those courses that do not require work with special equipment, such as programming, online tasks in Workbooks have been added. In addition, tools for working with modern technologies and programming languages were added to the curriculum: Minecraft, Python programming became available to children, 3D modeling through Tinkercad and Freecad, circuitry through a simulator at Tinkercad. Methodologists tested art modeling at Blender and developed a full-fledged course on Unity and, in particular, Unity-AR.
