2021: Launch Training Service
A platform for on-the-go training has been launched in Russia. This was announced on April 6, 2021 by SkillCup.
Micro-learning is a way to gain knowledge in small portions literally everywhere - from waiting for an elevator to traveling to the metro. One lesson takes no more than 10 minutes, and it will take only a few hours to study the entire course.
The Skill Cup platform allows you to take courses from top experts on the go, without breaking away from the main classes. For example, on the way to work, on a treadmill, or at breakfast. The amount of investment in the project amounted to more than 1 million dollars. One of the private investors and co-founder of the project was financier Alexei Korovin. Skill Cup co-investor was also IT entrepreneur Roman Mandrik.
Previously, the service was available only for corporate customers, where you could create microcourses for employees. Platform customers include BMW, Taste ABC, Starbucks, Sportmaster, Samokat and many others. According to a statista.com study, screen time on social networks increases every year. On average, in 2020, people spent 145 minutes a day on social networks. At the same time, users most often consume low-expert content. Psychologists at North Carolina State University released a study that short breaks (5-10 minutes each) help tired employees charge with energy and do better work during the day.
Many people have a habit of drinking coffee in the morning. People built it into their lives - they go into a coffee shop and take coffee to go. We want learning to become a habit, too. Therefore, we have developed a platform where you can get knowledge on the go as well. To do this, we made the videos short, almost like in TikTok, and the interface is similar to everyone's usual social networks, "said Roman Mandrik, co-founder and CEO of the EdTech-platform Skill Cup. |
Each month, microcourses with well-known experts from different industries will appear on the platform. Already in April 2021, microdevelopment is available on the platform with the author "Write and shorten" Maxim Ilyakhov, Ex-CEO of Alfa Bank Alexei Marey, founder of Svyaznoy Maxim Nogotkov and many others. Microcourses consist of short video lectures (5-10 minutes), interactive cases and repetition tests, mini podcasts, intelligent battles between users and step-by-step instructions.
