2020: Consortium Creation
On February 19, 2020, TAdviser became known that leading domestic high-tech companies announced the creation of the Consortium of Russian Storage Developers. The organization included the developer of storage and virtualization tools "Aerodisk," the Institute of Software Systems named after A.K. Aylamazyan RAS, the company "Norsi-Trans," the group of companies "Element," "BaseALT," as well as JSC "MCST" - the developer of processors "Elbrus."
As of February 2020, the Aerodisk Vostok storage system was developed as part of the consortium, which will allow state authorities to comply with updated federal legislation (in particular, procurement laws No. 44-FZ and No. 223-FZ, the law on critical information infrastructure (CII) No. 187-FZ, as well as Government Resolutions No. 878 and No. 1746). In addition, the organization will help domestic developers of electronic equipment and software solutions, together with state authorities, plan a strategy for scientific and technical development, exchange experience and form proposals for state customers.
The idea of creating a consortium was born in the process of developing Aerodisk Vostok storage systems, which required close cooperation between Russian technology partners. The hardware platform of this solution consists entirely of Russian components: Elbrus processors, motherboards, disk beckplains and server chassis were produced in Russia on the basis of the production facilities of Norsi-Trans. However, the range of tasks of the consortium is much wider. We plan to bring import substitution in the field of hardware to a fundamentally different level in order to provide the state and business with the opportunity to choose competitive solutions that are completely independent of foreign supplies, notes Vyacheslav Volodkovich, CEO of Aerodisk

Scientific and methodological support for the work of the consortium will be taken over by the IPS named after A.K. Aylamazyan RAS. The Institute's 36 years of expertise in the fields of design, supercomputers cooling systems, as well as systems, tools and applications ON will help the organization in its development. domestic storage systems
In 2020, members of the Consortium of Russian Storage Developers plan to complete the certification of the Aerodisk Vostok storage system at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as receive permits from law enforcement agencies. The organization's plans for 2021-2024 are associated with the advent of Elbrus-16C processors: alliance members plan to transfer the existing hyperconvergent solution Aerodisk vAIR, as well as the Aerodisk AIST virtualization system, to a fully domestic architecture.
