Raiffeisen Bank introduced the Smart ID Engine passport recognition software developed by Smart Engines, which announced this on April 19, 2021. The high accuracy and speed of extracting information from documents makes the process of opening an account in offices more comfortable. The technical solution based on the Smart ID Engine works in the bank's information circuit, which guarantees the security of customers' personal data.

In Raiffeisen Bank departments, safe passport recognition technologies are used to open an account. The bank employee scans the document and all necessary data is automatically entered into the corresponding fields of the application to be completed. As of April 2021, the implemented solution allows you to extract data from the main spread of the document. During recognition, the Smart ID Engine cross-checks the recognized data.

Smart ID Engine is implemented on the basis of proprietary GreenOCR technology. It is based on the results of scientific research by Smart Engines scientists in the field of energy efficient AI. The 8-bit deep neural network computing model used provides high performance AI algorithms and significantly reduces power consumption during recognition. Using the Smart ID Engine, companies can recognize document data in photos, scans, and video streams in real time. The software product toolkit is available for developers to embed in mobile, server and desktop applications.
