In May 2021, Rostec launched the production of medical oxygen in Perm. For this project, the state corporation attracted the capacity of Motovilikhinsky plants.

According to the press service of Rostec, we are talking about oxygen of high purity with a concentration of 99.9%, which is used to treat patients with respiratory diseases and the circulatory system. It is necessary for patients in intensive care and intensive care units, as well as during surgical operations.

The Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin, commenting on the implementation of the project, noted that oxygen therapy is an important component in the treatment of patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and, despite the decrease in the number of cases, the need for medical oxygen remains high.

Rostec launches medical oxygen production in Perm

The production capacity of Motovilikhinsky plants allows producing up to 70 tons of medical oxygen per month. Having its own storage system for 28 tons allows you to create reserves. If the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 worsens, the one-time shipment can be further increased to 20 tons.

The first deliveries will be made to hospitals in the Kama region. Since 2022, the company expects to supply medical oxygen to neighboring regions.

Motovilikha is the only plant in the Perm Territory that produces liquid oxygen on an industrial scale. The company responded to the request of the regional authorities to work out the issue of licensing the production of oxygen for medical purposes. The creation of its own operator for its production in the territory of the Kama region will ensure the uninterrupted supply of hospitals and hospitals with oxygen for the treatment of patients with pneumonia and coronavirus infection, "said Dmitry Makhonin.[1]
