Educational institutions of the Kaluga region will equip Russian software "R7-Office"

2021: Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Digital Transformation of the Educational Industry

The government of the Kaluga region has entered into a cooperation agreement with the developer of the Russian office package "R7-Office." This was announced on August 13, 2021 in the company "New Communication Technologies."

The document is aimed at fulfilling the federal task of digital transformation of the educational industry and government agencies, which was set by the President of Russia as part of the implementation of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation." Under the terms of the agreement, the developer will transfer licenses for the R7-Office office package to educational institutions in the region for free. The pilot launch of the decision has already taken place in one of the gymnasiums of the region.

As part of the provision of domestic software, educational institutions will have access to a fully functional and compatible package of office programs with all popular formats, including editors of text documents, tables and presentations, image and video viewing tools, a collaboration platform, as well as an organizer with a calendar and a mail client.

"We developed R7-Office as a package that will allow employees of institutions without downtime, retraining and loss of functionality and data to switch to working with Russian software, and students to create a skills base for working with programs that will allow them to easily adapt to any such applications in the future," explained Director General Natalia Agafonova.
