The Wind Energy Development Fund began construction in the Samara Region of Wind Energy Cluster with a total capacity of 236.6 MW. This was reported on September 13, 2021 by Rusnano. The ceremony of starting construction work took place with the participation of the Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov and the General Director of LLC UK Wind Energy Alexander Chuvaev.

The wind energy cluster, which will include the Civil Wind Farm, the Pokrovskaya Wind Farm and the Ivanovo Wind Farm, will become a major wind generation facility in the Volga Federal District. The stations will begin to supply electricity to the wholesale electricity and capacity market (OREM) in the fourth quarter of 2022.

This is an innovative and very landmark investment project aimed at the future - for decades to come. It is of significant economic and energy importance for the Samara region, where we create high-tech production and jobs every year. We need to introduce green technologies, green energy is our future. Our region has a high population density and anthropogenic load. It is extremely important that the project, gaining momentum, will give "green" energy for our native land. We are taking a big step to improve the environmental situation in the region. This is important for me personally, and, I am sure, for most residents of the Samara region. This is important for those who connect their fate with our home region. The project was launched as soon as possible, we reached the start of construction according to the planned schedule. As of September 2021, Civil VES, Pokrovskaya VES and Ivanovo VES are performing civil works: on-site roads are being laid, the construction of the foundations of wind power plants begins. 52 Vestas wind power plants with a capacity of 4.55 MW each will be located on the territory of wind farms. The production of the main components - blades and towers - is localized with the participation of the RUSNANO Group in Ulyanovsk and Taganrog (Rostov Region). The assembly of gondolas is carried out at an enterprise in Dzerzhinsk (Nizhny Novgorod region). The degree of equipment localization will be more than 65%.
