2021: Development of an underwater hybrid cable
Capital Moskabelmet Group of Companies developed an underwater hybrid cable for energy saving oilgas platforms. It is equally suitable for operation in both fresh and salt water: it can be used for crossings along the bottom of rivers and lakes or for connecting power supply and objects from land or sea platforms at depths of up to 150-200 meters. This was announced on September 27, 2021 by the head Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow Alexander Prokhorov.
"The cable industry in Moscow is represented by 11 enterprises. These are companies that are systematically modernizing and increasing production volumes. In the first half of 2021, the volume of shipped goods of its own production by cable and cable fittings manufacturers reached 14.4 billion rubles, which is 53.7% more than in the same period a year earlier. At the end of 2020, their total revenue amounted to 21.5 billion rubles. Moskabelmet Group of Companies is the largest player in the industry, uniting several factories at once, "said the head of the department. |
The cable developed by Moskabelmet works not only in water, but can also be operated on land and in the air. In addition, its design provides for a module with optical fibers, which are used not only for data transmission, but also as a sensitive element that allows monitoring the state of an underwater cable line.
"This temperature control system allows you to determine the condition of the cable, the possibility of increasing the current load, detect backfilling soil blurring, cable bare due to anchor engagement or bottom soaking with ice, timely notify of the development of hazardous events to prevent damage to the responsible cable line," said Pavel Sailakov, General Director of Moskabelmet Group of Companies. |
The cable of Moscow production allows solving a number of important problems, including in the segment of import substitution. For example, this domestic technology will eliminate the use of expensive foreign equipment.
