So, thanks to Farm Monitor, SberAnalytics revealed trends in the pharmacy market in the first half of 2021.

It is noted that the volume of sales the pharmacy assortment has practically not changed compared to the same period of 2020 year: 629 billion rubles in January-June 2021 year against 631 billion rubles for the same period last year. Thus, the pharmacy market managed to consolidate the results of the first half of 2020, when demand was strong against the background of the first wave. COVID

The locomotive of sales growth pharmacies is the older generation 65 +. Purchases in pharmacies of this age group increased by 14% compared to the same period in 2020. Spending by a younger audience (up to 25 years old) also increased by 6%, but their contribution to market growth is insignificant due to the small share of this age group in the total consumption of the pharmacy assortment. The leader among age groups, which, on the contrary, significantly reduced purchases, are buyers of 25‒34 years. They reduced purchases by 6% relative to their consumption in the first half of 2020. The remaining segments show moderate rates of decline.

In terms of segments in terms of consumer spending, growth is observed among buyers with an average level of wealth. Among the wealthiest buyers, on the contrary, there is a decline in activity.
