2022: As part of Ansys 2022 R1

On February 1, 2022, KADFEM Si-Ai-Es, a partner of Ansys, announced the release of an updated version of Ansys 2022 R1 software products. It presents a number of major updates - from the Ansys Forming software product and the Ansys Connect system, which replaced the Ansys Platform, to the many changes, updates and features that have appeared in existing solutions. More details here.

2021: Announcement of the release of Ansys Forming

On November 2, 2021, KADFEM Si-Ai-Es announced that in January 2022 Ansys will release its first software product for modeling metal stamping processes . It will be a comprehensive tool that will meet industry requirements within a single platform.

Ansys Forming

According to the company, using Ansys LS-DYNA as a solver, Ansys Forming will ensure the accuracy of forecasts and optimization of the workflow for digital design, modeling and verification of sheet metal processing throughout the production process. Ansys Forming allows you to create detailed design configurations in the early stages, giving users the ability to pre-define various modeling requirements, including processability, formability, and prediction of elastic spring. Thanks to this continuous working process, engineers can perform the entire metal stamping process within a single platform, eliminating the need for physical tests.

Ansys Forming combines pre- and post-processing in a single package and eliminates the large amount of manual work that its predecessors required. I used many of them and I am sure that Ansys Forming is a suitable pre- and post-processor for stamping metal.

said Xue Fei Green, technical director of Dongguan Vision Tool & Mould Co.

Modeling metal forming processes helps manufacturers identify errors, the most appropriate materials, and the most efficient and cost-effective machining processes. As a result, engineers spend less time designing and upgrading. In addition, Ansys Forming provides detailed design information, including the identification of structurally weak points at which the metal can shake, rupture or deform.

The solution to the problems of stamping and metal forming is far from a new area of calculation for LS-DYNA, which is used to solve a wide range of problems of cold and hot stamping, stamping with a magnetic pulse or even explosion. Thanks to its versatility, which allows you to switch between an explicit and implicit integration scheme over time, the possibility of using adaptive grid and directless methods and an extensive library of material models, it becomes possible to accurately solve almost any problem. However, previously the solver compute core did not have a convenient shell that would optimize problem setting and analysis of results. Engineers often used a whole set of pre- and post-processors from different developers, which did not always allow you to organize a seamless workflow. The comprehensive Ansys Forming system will be able to ensure the performance of calculations of stamping and molding tasks.
