2021: Delivery of ElarScan A2-400
In the Bakchar inter-settlement centralized library system of the Tomsk region, a professional planetary scanner ElarSKAN A2-400 appeared, which will help develop several directions in digitization. This was announced on November 16, 2021 by Elar.
With the help of ElarSkan, it is planned to digitize the local periodical press, - the newspaper "Lenin Banner," "Bakchar Life," "Bakchar News." The library notes that the paper of some publications is of such poor quality, which only worsens over time, that digitization is the only way to avoid the loss of materials. In addition to digitizing its own local history materials, professional scanning equipment will provide an opportunity to help colleagues from the Bakchar Museum with the digitization of documents.
We also plan to create an association that will develop the creative abilities of our youth. ElarSkan will help a lot in this - we will digitize various photo materials on it and use the obtained copies in creating videos, presentations with our guys, "said Evgenia Aleksandrovna Doronina, director of the Bakchar inter-settlement centralized library system. - We live in rural areas and digital technologies, unfortunately, are not in every house, so even with the help of this equipment we want to assist in the preparation of educational materials for those who do not have the opportunity to do it at home. |
ElarScan A2-400 will allow the library system employees to scan at the optimal speed and in high quality not only any educational materials, but also carefully digitize dilapidated and valuable pages without the risk of damage. So, it is planned to create an electronic copy for the two-volume "Folk Studies" by Friedrich Ratzel, the exact age of the publications is difficult to determine, but the author's preface dates back to 1894. Digitized books and newspapers will be used at library exhibitions and events, and will also be available to library users.
