2021: Launch of a solution for sustainable, flexible and safe power grids
On December 1, 2021, Hitachi Energy, a company specializing in the field of technologies and the electricity grid market, introduced IdentiQ, its digital twin for HVDC solutions (DC insertion) and electricity quality. According to the company, IdentiQ will help make the global energy system more sustainable, flexible and secure, accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral future.
IdentiQ is a digital twin of the HVDC converter station, STATCOM or other power quality equipment. It provides all the necessary asset information, analytics and operational data on an intuitive and easy-to-navigate toolbar that users can customize to suit their needs. IdentiQ includes interactive 3D visualization of the entire asset, combined with one-click access to all related plant and equipment information, including technical documentation, operation and maintenance procedures, safety training, and operational data for monitoring and analytics.
"IdentiQ is a digital twin solution based on our experience and knowledge of technologies for power grids. This is a significant addition to Hitachi Energy's digital offering and supports our customers' efforts to continuously improve the efficiency and reliability of their network investments, " said Niklas Persson, managing director of Hitachi Energy's grid integration division. |
IdentiQ will allow customers to improve the management of grid assets by clustering all information in one digital storage for easy access to all operational functions. This approach underpins Hitachi Energy's vision for digital twin technology: providing the right resources and information to the right people at the right time to optimize operations and make smarter decisions.
IdentiQ expands HVDC capabilities and power quality:
- Reliability and environmental friendliness - thanks to the possibility of comprehensive remote analysis and support, as well as through the digitization of paper information about old installations.
- Flexibility - by adapting to ever-changing asset performance requirements throughout the lifecycle.
- Safety - by complying with the main industry standards cyber security Protect all data and on information assets from loss or destruction. Provide virtual training on-site procedures necessary for clothing and evacuation routes prior to site visit.
Digitalization is needed to make electricity the foundation of the entire energy system and ensure a sustainable energy future. This is the key to integrating large and distributed renewable energy sources, as well as to electrifying and decarbonizing sectors such as transport, industry and data centres; and enabling countries and companies to achieve their carbon reduction goals.
IdentiQ it is integrated with a number of enterprise business systems, including Hitachi Lumada software Lumada an asset and work management platform and package, and together they provide a system-wide overview - from site to conference room. IdentiQ is part of Hitachi Energy's drive to drive the pace of digital and eco-efficient technologies in grid technologies and accelerate the transition to carbon-neutral energy systems. This launch was the result of Hitachi Energy's year of operation, including:
- Lumada Asset and Work Management - launched in January 2021 to enable resource-intensive industries to be more adaptive, collaborative, insightful and predictive. Lumada offers technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, advanced data analysis, hybrid cloud management and cybersecurity.
- EconiQ - launched in April 2021 and provides an eco-efficient portfolio of products, services and solutions that provide additional environmental characteristics compared to traditional solutions.
Both portfolios are an integral part of the Hitachi Energy Sustainability 2030 strategic plan, which is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals to ensure social, environmental and economic value.
