2022: Contract to use upgraded version of CitySoft
Rostelecom and the Office of Information Technologies and Communications of the city of Kazan signed a contract for the use of an upgraded version of the CitySoft software and hardware complex (PAC). The digital solution for monitoring a wide range of work related to the improvement and condition of road infrastructure has already proven its effectiveness in solving the problems of urban economy. This was reported on December 14, 2022 by Rostelecom.
The digital service automatically determines the need for cleaning roads from snow and ice, records the passages of cleaning equipment and the quality of the work carried out. CitySoft also monitors acts of vandalism (damage to sidewalks, protective fencing), lack of road markings, problems with street lighting, the occurrence of obstacles to the work of city services and other factors affecting the safety of road users. The work of the service had a positive effect on the cleanliness and safety of Kazan roads.
PAC CitySoft was developed by experts from Avtodoria. During the operation of the system, they optimized and expanded the functionality of the complex. To collect primary data that flock to the complex control center, mobile devices with video cameras are placed on public and special transport. This ensures maximum coverage of the most significant highways of the city and regular data collection with minimal time intervals.
"In the Volga region there is potential for the development of the Internet of Things (IoT). Our digital infrastructure employs dozens of modern services that ensure the security of cities. The data centers of Rostelecom store significant amounts of information, process a huge amount of data, we ensure the connectivity of components of various systems and solve cybersecurity issues . Kazan's experience is indicative: the authorities have outlined a tendency to make management decisions based on analytical data. We are ready to follow this trend - in cooperation with the regions, develop solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies, "said Evgeny Petrov, vice president and director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Rostelecom. |
2021: Implementation of CitySoft PAC
Rostelecom on December 15, 2021 announced the start of the implementation of the CitySoft hardware and software complex in Kazan. It was created to control work related to the improvement of the city, primarily the state of road infrastructure. The project is being implemented under the municipal contract of Regional Information Center LLC (a subsidiary of Rostelecom) with the Information Technology and Communications Department of Kazan.
The implemented digital service will automatically determine the need to clean roads from snow, ice and dirt, record the passages of cleaning equipment and the quality of the work carried out. CitySoft is able to detect acts of vandalism (damage to sidewalks, protective fences), lack of road markings, lighting problems, obstacles to the work of city services (open hatches, accidents, parked cars that interfere with snow removal) and other factors that can affect the safety of road users.
To collect primary data that flocks to the CitySoft control center, mobile devices with video cameras are placed on public and special transport. This ensures maximum coverage of the most significant highways of the city and regular data collection with minimal time intervals.
For Rostelecom, participation in the development of smart cities is one of the strategic directions. We constantly monitor the emergence of new digital solutions and specialized software that help improve the quality of urban services. CitySoft is about ease of deployment, providing great coverage and regular data collection. The use of artificial intelligence technologies allows you to record the slightest change on the roads or around: the growth of snow cover or damage to the fence, the absence of external lighting or road markings. The collection and analysis of these data will help the Kazan administration to take timely measures and effectively control the work of contractors, - said Igor Zimin, vice president for applied projects at Rostelecom. |
Based on the results of testing the complex in real conditions during the year, a decision will be made to implement it in other cities.
In March 2020, we first launched the CitySoft pilot project in Kazan. In the first month of work, the complex showed good results, thanks to which we managed to improve the system and introduce many additional and useful modules to ensure effective control over the state of the city's infrastructure, "explained Marat Gilmanov, technical director of Avtodoria LLC. |
