Tribevest is an American collective investment platform that allows friends and relatives to unite in a group of investors and manage investments.

History

2022: Raising $3 million, including from I2BF Global Ventures

At the end of January 2022, Tribevest attracted $3 million in investments as part of the sowing round. The company was invested in the I2BF Global Ventures fund by Ilya Golubovich (son of the former financial director of YukOSaAlexei Golubovich), Mucker Capital, Gaingels, Vibe Capital and singer and songwriter Ryan Leslie.

Tribevest plans to use some of the funds raised to launch formal partnerships with investment platforms like Roofstock, which will allow users of these platforms to make investments directly through their Tribevest account.

Tribevest founder Travis Smith noted that the platform allows users to penetrate private markets, such as real estate and startups, which can often require prohibitively large initial investments, by pooling money. While some groups invest in shares of public companies, almost 80% of Tribevest users invest in private markets.

According to Smith, so far the company has focused on creating and optimizing its core functions, such as starting and managing an LLC and making transactions. After the investment round, the team of eight intends to redouble efforts to hire engineers and product managers, as well as invest in marketing ahead of the expected Series A fundraiser Tribevest plans to launch a mobile application in the first half of 2022, which, according to Smith, reflects its promising focus on "community, communication and collaboration."

At the end of January 2022, there are more than 1000 groups on the Tribevest platform, more than 570 of which actively make transactions, usually with several asset classes. On average, the groups consist of four to five members, although some are between two and 50 members.[1]
