2020: Attraction of 50 million dollars in a round of D
On January 13, 2020 Sberbank announced TAdviser what Fort Ross Ventures invested in the Californian startup in the field of the real estate of Roofstock which completed a round of financing of series D for 50 million dollars.
Roofstock helps investors to manage the real estate and chooses for them tenants. As a result conservative, "analog" and before the market of the one-storey residential real estate closed even for most of the American investors (houses on one family) becomes an available and quick asset — the same as oil or gold. As the residential real estate is difficult in management, success in this market requires not only the hi-tech platform, but also deep understanding of an operational part of business which just and is shown by the Roofstock command.
In addition to Fort Ross Ventures, also other known venture funds of the USA, including Lightspeed Ventures, Canvas Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital, Citi Ventures and others took part in the capital of the company.
Roofstock is in vanguard of quickly growing space of technologies in the markets of the residential real estate and has potential to perform disrupt of the whole industry. We have all bases to expect long-term success of Roofstock in the American and Russian markets. Our position is shared by the leading venture funds of the USA which also performed large investments into a startup told Victor Orlovsky, the managing partner of Fort Ross Ventures
