Rubrik is the international vendor of solutions for data management. Among founders of Rubrik there are natives of Google, Facebook, Oracle and VMware, and investors of the company are the former CEOs of Veritas, Data Domain and Symantec.

Rubrik provides availability of applications with functions of data protection, search, the analysis, archiving and copying of data. The company developed the convergent platform allowing to perform backup virtual machines under management VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and Nutanix AHV, databases Oracle and Microsoft SQL, physical servers based on OS Windows Server and the main OS Linux. The solution Rubrik integrates backup, instant recovery, replication, search, analytics and archiving of data on single linearly scalable platform, considerably facilitating infrastructure of reserve software and the hardware.

History

2019: Attraction of $261 million investments and receiving assessment in $3.3 billion

On January 15, 2019 Rubrik announced attraction of $261 million investments. According to the results of a round of financing  of software developer for data management estimated at $3.3 billion.

The investment transaction was headed by Bain Capital Ventures venture fund. Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures and IVP companies which already provided earlier to Rubrik a financial support also joined it.

As notes Reuters news agency, taking into account the investments attracted in January, 2019 Rubrik received for the history in total $553 million from investors. The company intends to use means for development of innovations and start of new products.

This new capital will accelerate implementation of new excellent products in 2019 which will solve problems of clients and considerably will expand our strategic activity in the corporate sector — the cofounder and the CEO of Rubrik said Bipool of Bipul Sinha.

Cisco, Expedia Group, UC San Diego, ASL Airlines, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Defense are among clients of Rubrik.

Rubrik spends money not only for product development, but also for purchases of other companies. So, Datos IO — developer of a cloud platform of data management which allows the organizations to protect data from applications was purchased earlier.

When the company begins to cost several billion dollars, it often thinks of entry into the exchange. Bipool Sinkh reported to the CRN edition that Rubrik will carry out the IPO sooner or later, however this procedure is not among the purposes of the company. According to the head, terms of public primary securities placement will depend on market situation and readiness of the company to consider the possibility of an entry into the exchange.
