2022: Modernization of the press line of the car factory

On February 16, 2022, the company ABB announced that it had equipped its industrial robots updated press line at the automobile LADA Izhevsk Group plant. AvtoVAZ The five robots IRB 760FX allows you to significantly increase line performance  and ensure high quality productions parts.

 ABB specialists performed all the installation and commissioning of the robotic solution  with the necessary safety and quality control measures  in a short time - in just two months.

Due to the introduction of the robotic solution IRB 760FX, the performance of the press line can be increased to 80% - up to 15-16 press beats per minute. In addition to the five robots involved in the press line, ABB delivered another spare robot of the same model and its own software StampWare to increase the productivity of the stamping process.  The program has a graphic wizard, the programming use of which allows you to reduce the operator time  training   and configure the robot when preparing it for work.

"Automotive industry is one of the industries industries with high dynamics of using robotic complexes. LADA is keeping pace with trends in automation robotizations and production and is choosing topical robotic solutions. The robotic press line of a particularly large stamping is an important part of the LADA press production, Izhevsk so the equipment as part of the modernization was quite high requirements. The press line was able to be optimized in a short time by equipping it with high-speed industrial robots with good technical characteristics, " notes Alexander Novoselov, head of the Robotics division of ABB.

Due to the difficult situation in the automotive industry, including interruptions in the  supply chain, ABB decided to extend the warranty period  for the delivered robots for an additional year - until September 2022.

The robotic solution IRB 760FX refers to the line of loading and unloading robots and is designed for working with presses. The IRB 760FX is equipped with a seventh linear axis. This allows production to achieve the high level of flexibility required of  automated presses when working  with medium and large workpieces, as well as from special stages of the production cycle, such as changing the position of the part, rotating it  and splitting it into parts. The use of the robot reduces the time, cost and downtime associated with the re-installation of highly specialized equipment for  loading and unloading presses.
