2022: Presentation of the industrial automation system of flexible production
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Bosch Rexroth AG and announced the expansion of joint research projects focused on the application 5G of -technology for (industrial Internet of Things Industrial Internet of Things, I).IoT This became known on March 6, 2022. On the territory Robert Bosch Elektronik GmbH of the factory in Salzgitter (Germany), a joint presentation of industrial the flexible production automation system was held, during which the following were demonstrated: a network sensitive to signal propagation delays (TSN), low delay, high reliability of coordinated multi-point technology (CoMP), accurate positioning over the 5G network transport of an assisted guided vehicle (AGV) and autonomous mobile (robot automotive mobile robot r).
System presentation scenario - acceptance of manufactured automotive spare parts. An AGV trolley with an empty capacity approaches the AMR robot. The AMR robot selects spare parts from the holder and performs optical inspection using the Rexroth ctrlX CORE controller. The standard spare parts are moved to the appropriate container on the AGV trolley. Discarded spare parts are sent to the tank installed next to the AMR. The time-synchronized system shows two options: AGV and AMR move to one place or another with positioning over the 5G network and AGV precisely moves to the AMR location. The 5G network operates in the 3.7-3.8 GHz range, which in Germany is allocated to regional and local networks.
The 5G system with TSN technology allows you to flexibly plan production premises, increase the efficiency of using factory space and working time, optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs. The 3GPP Release 16 specification extends 5G functionality to support Industry 4.0, enabling capabilities such as enhanced ultra-reliable low latency communication (eURLLC) technology with millisecond latency and 99.9999% reliability and TSN support. Research collaboration with Bosch Rexroth opens the way to the factory of the future.
We see great prospects in continuing technological cooperation with Bosch Rexroth to realize the benefits of 5G and IoT in the industrial environment, "said Enrico Salvatori, senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Europe/MEA and Qualcomm Europe, Inc. - We are working intelligently to make our world all connected. Our comprehensive industrial IoT solutions accelerate digital transformation across industries, and this kind of collaboration lays the foundation for the next generation of 5G-based industrial automation. |
We are proud of cooperation with Qualcomm Technologies which made a big contribution to preparation of demonstration of key technologies 5G and TSN which will become a basis of transformations in industrial automation of the Industry 4.02, - Thomas Fechner, the unit manager of solutions of automation and electrification[1] told[2]. |
