VK Cloud Solutions provided cloud infrastructure for the online service "Magnet Pharmacy." This was announced by VK (previously Mail.ru Group) on March 14, 2022.

All 835 pharmacies from 58 regions of Russia connected to the Magnit Pharmacy online service. During the 17 months of operation, the farm direction of one of the retail chains moved to the VK Cloud Solutions infrastructure.

Two formats are available to customers: booking goods with payment and self-delivery from pharmacies in 30 minutes and ordering from an expanded assortment from the warehouse with delivery to the selected pharmacy the next day. In the future, over-the-counter drugs will be delivered by couriers. As of March 2022, the average monthly traffic of the service is 60 thousand people.

The VK Cloud Solutions platform took over the implementation of the project architecture, as well as the administration of the turnkey infrastructure, which made it possible to guarantee SLA for the entire IT landscape of the retailer. Thus, the company was able to focus on operational activities and reduce the launch time of the new strategic project. The service provides 886 virtual machines. 100 pharmacies of the network in Moscow and the Moscow region participated in the test launch. Further, the service grew in new regions. In January 2022, the last pool of pharmacies from the Ural Federal District joined the online resource.

The provider prepared the IT landscape to launch the project: from supporting operating systems, web servers and caches based on the Tarantool in-memory computing platform to monitoring the functioning of databases, backup and traffic balancing. The high speed of communication between the Magnit central office in Krasnodar and the VK Cloud Solutions data center is provided using a physical communication channel organized by the provider.

In addition, VK Cloud Solutions helped automate development and build continuous software integration and deployment processes in accordance with the CI/CD concept. Thus, Magnit received ready-made tools for the rapid development of the project. Testing and releases of updates for Magnet Pharmacy are automated thanks to the functionality of the VK Cloud Solutions cloud platform, including in process automation and the ability to organize the infrastructure as code.
