2022: Russian Funds bought Istra-Khleboproduct for 888 million rubles

In April 2022, Russian Funds acquired the Istra-Khleboproduct complex in Moscow Region for 888 million rubles. The buyer was LLC IS-2, which is part of the Russian Funds investment group. The relevant information is posted in the bankruptcy information register. The conclusion of the deal to Kommersant was confirmed by an informed source.

By April 2022, the Istra-Khleboproduct complex includes an elevator, factories for the production of flour and feed. Among the customers of Istra-Khleboproduct were such enterprises as Fazer and KBK Cheremushki, previously the complex was part of the Istra agricultural holding. Istra-Khleboproduct is bankrupt.

Russian Funds bought a bakery in the suburbs for 888 million rubles

According to experts interviewed by the publication, the purchase of a bakery near Moscow may be risky due to the threat of overproduction of flour, insufficient export of raw materials and the difficulty of modernizing the complex due to the unstable economic situation.

Sovekon director Andrei Sizov says that the flour market remains not very interesting, distinguished by an excess of capacity, a decrease in consumption and a noticeable share of the gray sector. According to him, perhaps Russian Funds considers the Istra plant as an element of the vertical integration of its poultry business to increase the provision of feed. In 2021, Sergei Vasiliev, at a meeting with the Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudeney, spoke about plans to build a poultry complex in the region.

According to the newspaper, Russian Funds was not the only interest in the Istra-Khleboproduct complex. The Bio-Ton agricultural holding, which manages more than 500 thousand hectares of land in the Volga region, also filed an application for participation in the auction. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bio-Tone Eduard Zernin says that the holding is interested in developing its own grain processing and is constantly considering opportunities for buying mill complexes.[1]
