2023: Implementation of the Renga BIM system

On June 27, 2023, Softline Group of companies announced that it had helped Transyuzhstroy switch to Russian design software. For the Belgorod developer, the Renga BIM system was introduced (BIM - Building Information Modeling - information modeling technology). Thanks to a modern 3D tool with collaboration capabilities, the company already solves the problems of comprehensive design, creates information models of objects, while reducing the time for project development.

According to the company, the company uses software for the design of civil engineering facilities in its daily work. After revoking licenses for foreign products used by Transyuzhstroy specialists, the developer needed to quickly find a tool for BIM design available in Russia. In this regard, Transyuzhstroy turned to Softline Group of Companies.

The specialists Softline Group of companies studied the business processes and tasks of the company and selected a solution that met the customer's needs for architectural modeling and collaboration capabilities. This solution was the system of the Russian developer Renga Software. All documentation created during the design process corresponds to the regulatory framework used in Russia.

Our client, as a fast-growing company, is interested in introducing advanced design technologies. The increase in the number of Transyuzhstroy construction facilities led to the need to quickly process large amounts of information and the possibility of collaboration of related departments. We helped select a tool that allows the customer to design structures using BIM technology and ensure the simultaneous work of employees of the architectural and design department with the current model. Working in the Renga BIM system, our client will be able to optimize the timing of projects by eliminating collisions and inaccuracies in design. After purchasing licenses, Transyuzhstroy specialists almost immediately started working in this system. This is possible thanks to a simple and understandable interface. In the process of testing the solution, we, together with the vendor, provided the client with consulting support, which allowed Transyuzhstroy specialists to quickly master the basic functionality.

We are very pleased that large developers are opting for BIM. This trend gives hope that in the near future the construction industry of Russia will completely switch to information modeling technologies. And Transyuzhstroy proves by its example that the transition to BIM/TIM technologies from 2D design is possible and gives its positive results. An important point in the history of the company is how exactly the transition from foreign software to our Renga product takes place. Moreover, it became possible as soon as possible thanks to the support of Softline Group of Companies.

Our company has been using BIM technology in design since 2019. After revoking licenses for foreign CAD, we turned to experts from Softline Group of Companies. As a result, market research was carried out, in which Nikolai Titarenko, a specialist of our IT department, took an active part. After performing a comparative analysis of the functionality of the solutions and assessing the pricing policy of vendors, information about suitable Russian solutions was transferred to the design department. When switching to Russian software, a low threshold for entering the product was of great importance for us. It was also important for our specialists to quickly interact in one workspace. The model created in Renga contains different types of information about the object - technological, economic, architectural and structural, which makes it possible to see all the relationships and dependencies. In addition, working in a single information space allows the chief engineer and the chief architect to coordinate the work of employees and control the timing of the project. All this affects the preparation, release of high-quality and up-to-date design and working documentation. Thanks to Renga, we get the integrity and informativity of models and objects, as well as automatic synchronization at all stages of design. In conditions of constant changes and the need for parallel execution of projects, the use of such a software product allows you to efficiently perform work, not waste time on routine. I note that as of June 2023, the product is rapidly changing for the needs of the market. And since we are interested in tools for finer and more detailed customization for our needs, until we can quickly execute design solutions completely in Renga and sometimes use third-party software. But we also want to note that the vendor maintains an open dialogue with customers and listens to feedback, and we expect that Renga will soon expand the capabilities of the software for the convenience of comprehensive design. After the implementation of the software, most of our employees are already working in the system. At Renga, our specialists have already completed two diverse projects - they designed a multi-storey building and a school.
