2022: Installing a 3D screen with naked eye technology
An updated 3D screen has appeared on the tower of the main entrance to the Moscow Zoo. This was reported by the Press Service of the Office of the Mayor and the Government of Moscow on May 5, 2022. It will broadcast three-dimensional videos dedicated to the Amur tiger, white bear, manula, big panda and other animals. As Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina said, representatives of these rare and endangered species live in the capital's zoo and are studied by its specialists. At the international level, large-scale programs are being implemented to preserve them.
A whole team worked on the creation of 3D videos, which included zoologists, animators, programmers. Together they embodied an important educational project. All plots are based on scientific research and reflect the peculiarities of animal behavior. Six three-dimensional video scripts have already been prepared, each has its own unique script, noted Natalia Sergunina.

The screen on the facade of the zoo is based on 3D technology naked eye, which allows you to see a three-dimensional image without special glasses. The high refresh rate (3840 Hz) ensures absolute smoothness and realism of the image. For example, viewers will be able to watch the Amur tiger: how it comes out of cover, looks around and plays with a butterfly. The screen size is 14.4 by 4.8 meters. In the evening, the brightness will decrease, and the video sequence will become more static.
The updated media stage is an example of how technologies are used in educational and environmental activities, added Svetlana Akulova, Director General of the Moscow Zoo. According to her, 3D videos are designed to show how beautiful and unique nature is.
Recently, the first publicly available zoological library was opened at the new entrance to the zoo from the Barrikadnaya metro station. Now we launch the 3D screen on the tower of the main entrance. One of the main tasks - educational - is to tell how fragile the natural world is and how important it is to do everything possible to preserve it, Svetlana Akulova said.
