On May 31, 2022, Russian Post announced the installation of Russian server equipment in its data centers in the amount of 1.73 billion rubles. Deliveries were carried out by Yadro and Aquarius.
According to the press service of the Russian Post, another 506 servers have been installed in the Moscow data center, and 147 pieces of equipment in Sochi. The equipment was purchased on lease. It is noted that all servers are included in, Unified Register of Russian Radio Electronic Products Ministry of Industry and Trade which confirms their domestic origin.
The Russian Post says that additional servers will allow the company to support high rates of transformation and growth in demand for digital services.
Increasing computing power will allow us not only to support existing services, but also to implement, test and effectively scale new digital products for our customers, "said Vadim Gavrilenkov, head of the IT infrastructure and technological platforms department of the Russian Post. |
According to him, since 2020, Russian Post has been actively purchasing domestic IT equipment, which has a positive effect on the industry, including the growing quality of Russian solutions.
It is noted that against the background of the accelerated digitalization of the Russian Post, more and more information systems critical for the business appear, both for B2B- and B2C clients of the company, and for employees. For example, among individuals, the number of "digital" customers of the company exceeded 52 million, and the number of unique visitors to the pochta.ru portal increased by 18 million in just a year, the company said in a statement dated May 31, 2022. The increase in computing power will help ensure the uninterrupted functioning of systems and their redundancy, especially during peak periods in winter and autumn, the press service of the postal operator added.[1]
