Biography
Kristina Tikhonova graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Financial, Credit and International Economic Relations.
In June 2008, she took an Executive MBA course at the Russian Academy of Sciences and Kingston University (UK).
She has held various senior positions in companies such as Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Telecominvest Production and NEC Corporation in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
She began working at Nokia Networks in December 2005. She held the positions of Senior Account Manager, Group Leader and Head of Department for Work with one of the key clients of Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) in Russia (Megafon).
2010: Appointment as CEO of Nokia Siemens Networks in Russia
In August 2010, Kristina Tikhonova was appointed General Director Nokia Siemens Networks in Russia. In this position, she was responsible for implementing the company's business development strategy in Russia and working with personnel. In this position, she replaced, Jonathan Sparrow who became responsible for the implementation of initiatives as part of Nokia Siemens the Networks business development strategy in Russia as a consultant.
As the head of Nokia-Siemens Network in Russia, Christina was able to create and implement the company's development strategy and conclude several important partnerships.

2019: Appointment as President of Microsoft in Russia
On February 27, 2019, Microsoft announced to TAdviser the appointment of Christina Tikhonova as Microsoft President in Russia. She will begin her duties in this capacity on March 15, 2019. In this post, Christina will replace Tomas Bochenek, who will continue to work with her to ensure smooth transfer of business and business continuity for customers and partners with the support of the leadership of the Russian office.
As president of Microsoft in Russia, Kristina Tikhonova will report to Philip Rogge, vice president of Microsoft in Central and Eastern Europe.

Kristina Tikhonova is known to the Russian market for more than 20 years of experience in the field of management, sales, business development and strategy building. Christina devoted most of her professional activities to the telecom industry: she led companies such as Veon, Nokia Networks, NEC, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and others.
2022: Dismissal as Microsoft president in Russia
As TAdviser found out, the president changed in the Russian office of Microsoft in September 2022. Instead of Christina Tikhonova, who headed the company since 2019 , Benjamin Owen Orndorff was appointed president. He headed all four operating Russian legal entities of the American corporation in Russia: Microsoft Rus, Microsoft Mobile Rus, Microsoft Development Center Rus and Microsoft Pages Rus.
