Contractors: Scanderm

Project date: 2022/07

On July 1, 2022, Magnit announced the appearance of AI machines in its stores for selecting cosmetics from photos from the phone. The technology was implemented jointly with the Russian-Korean biotechnology company Scanderm.

To analyze the skin, customers need to point their smartphone camera at the QR code in the store, answer a few questions and upload a photo of their face. Artificial intelligence will process the picture and select an individual care program for the ingredients in the makeup.

By the beginning of July 2022, the system provides three price categories for various products, including the retail chain's own brands: Korean cosmetics KuMiHo and natural cosmetics Stellar Skin Studio. Users will be able to purchase a full range of morning and evening care in Magnit Cosmetics stores, supplement their existing care with missing products and track the dynamics of skin changes. It is alleged that the personal data of customers are protected with the help of one of the largest Russian cloud storage providers (the partner is not disclosed to them).

Scanderm noted that for the implementation of the project, the company worked with dermatologists of the Moscow State Medical University named after Sechenov, developers of cosmetics and artificial intelligence for the leading countries of Asia, America and Europe.
